MEMORY: First Find Noodle
Officially I logged this one on Thursday April 15th, 2010, though I must've found it the Tuesday before. I remember I went to a coexist meeting, which was a neat group that got together weekly and I got to learn about different religions, and I had a lot of friends in the group, and yeah, maybe they have some off-kilter beliefs, but I remember I defended them from a couple of Fedora-grade pricks who wanted to be mean. Explained from an atheistic POV that even though we know a lot, many things (especially psychological things!) are still mysteries, so folk magic (the topic that night) may prove beneficial to the user even if it's wrong (placebo mah neebo).
Friend called and asked if I wanted to go geocaching. He briefly explained it to me, so I excused myself from the meeting and met him in the scenic meth-town between where we were then living.
Eatin' in the Shade was my first geocache find, and from that moment on I was hooked. I did not have a geocache name, so for the first few I just wrote "Shit was so cache" in the log books. While on the phone with my suite-mate and conferring what I should write, however, I stepped into a deepish hole where the cement pad met the wet ground, and I scratched my shin! :C
But happy news is we searched for a few more caches that night, and found many of them! Of course one of them, K2 The Summit, was the bane of my geo-career and I never got a chance to find it before it was archived. I may hafta draw that memory sometime!
