Ah the katana, by no means the perfect sword (no sword is "perfect") but a beautiful art piece as well as a deadly weapon and my personal favoraite sword. Personally I'd drop the disk guard in favor of a messer styled one, but I do understand the reasoning behind the disk guard being the chosen design. (long story short; they didn't have enough high quality steel to make the guards too.)
