It's not a German name though. It does sound somewhat Russian, but Germany too has immigration, so her ancestors might have come from Russia but she was born and grew up in Germany, giving her a German accent.

Hauschka is a Germanic name and "Mädel" and "Ach" point to German.

Personally, I don't think he would do it. On the other hand, if their child was looking like prey, then Nick might feel some degree of relief like: "At least my boy/girl won't have to deal with those issues",

What I meant: what examples of pred behavior are we talking about? :) The aggressiveness? Are preds more aggressive than preys in your headcannon or is it just something preys assume about preds?

in my head canon the aggressiveness of all animals exists on a sliding scale, kinda like introvert/extrovert. preds aren't more aggro naturally, but ppl pay more attention when they are, because stereotypes. in the film the wolf is arrested and muzzled for revealing his teeth, and somehow i don't think they would arrest a bunny for revealing it's teeth, lol.

Kinda makes sense an omnivorous species would take a less biased approach to predators. Being able to view things from both sides of the fence always helps.

Do couples ever ask if they can make the child MORE predator-like?

it would increase the chances of the kid being discriminated against in mixed company, but who knows, maybe some wealthy preds want to live in an isolated community amongst their own species and in that case it wouldn't be a prob. maybe some species, both pred and prey, live in small somewhat segregated communities, so they don't have to worry about their kids being attacked/discriminated against. *shrug*
i can see some pred parents being proud of their kids' pred behavior, yeah

I agree with Doc, eugenics is an outdated monstrosity that just won't die and I wish that kind of thinking would vanish from the face of the earth. It robs people of their potential because themselves or others are led to believe they are less than they could be. Die eugenics.
