Collared Lizard
One thing I did come home with from my trip to Arizona in early March was this juvie female Collard Lizard. I used to breed and raise collareds for the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. And even had 3 of my lizards photographed and featured in 2 reptile books.
I was sadly disappointed in my quest for a pair of Collareds, my usual collection area was almost void of them. My guess, too many rednecks, seeing the colorful lizards on the rocks, used them for target practice. This one was at some point, attacked by a bird, missing half its tail.
She was 2 inches long from nose to vent, and in the month I've had her, grown an additional half inch. She's a little pig too, greedily chowing down 3 crickets at once, looking like a reptilian chipmunk. She should grow to 6-8 inches, nose to vent.
I still yet to name her.
