Trade I had going with
Ruaidri
He finished mine within days of setting up the trade, and it took me weeks to get around to doing this. xD; Sadly, life is only giving me so much free time, and I usually have a thousand things to do in it, so art gets pushed to the side. Ah well, its done now.
This was to be background practice, but while it looks fine, it was sort of fail. I don't think I learned anything and I don't think I improved any. Its just a generic background and heavily stylized. :/
On an up note, I tried out mixing my prisma markers with some crayola pencils I had forever. I like the effect, but it takes a rather long time to do. The marker makes a nice base while the pencils are great for the shading, but eh... I'll probably always prefer digital, even if my traditional comes out better.
Also! Water = fail. My brain fights with my mind, one saying water should be BLUE while the other thinks the water should be white-ish brown, because its a river and its foaming over rocks. D< Whatever. The rocks suck too.

Let me know if you want a larger copy, hunny! I have it saved big, print quality.

When I first looked at the thumbnail, I thought this was done in clay - a very interesting way of coloring, using Prismas and colored pencils at the same time.
No matter how fail you may think it is, remember there are some of us *raises hand* who couldn't do this well if our lives depended on it.

Sorry for taking so long to commenting on this- life stuff has been happening. But man. You definitely outdid me by a long shot on this xD It looks so good! Though I do understand exactly what you mean, even if you didn't really do anything fancy or new or particularly learn-y, it still looks -really- awesome. And I love it to bits. The texture work in the greenery is especially nice. I think you did a good job, thanks much! 83
