Seriously. Ira, as with all Cyani, naturally swells with honey, produced from her own abdomen. It usually takes a day before a Cyani needs to drain this buildup. Past that, they can become increasingly debilitated, up until a sort of equilibrium point is met where the pressure of their own flesh trying to pull back to its normal size is enough to force out as much honey as they make, sparing them a much more gruesome fate. Of course, said point is well past when they lose any sort of useful mobility, so it's still not that much of an upside.
Ira, clearly, has not been keeping a rigorous draining schedule, and is paying the price of doing such in the exceptionally-cramped confines of a personal spaceship. It seems this will be another ship that she fills to capacity and has to be peeled open for the dock crews to get her out. Probably the third this year already...
