[--The Fox and The Grapes--]
My finished PreFinals project...
Well, I just hope I got this right... vector arts are tough.
This is Aesop's "The Fox and The Grapes".
It's our PreFinals Take-home exam about making a 2-page short-story with illustrations with the use of vector art.
I admit, I REALLY HATE VECTORS. I don't have a talent with it. But I'm glad I finished this, and it turned out quite great (in my own perspective.)
I wanted it to look like a children's book (because they're colorful.)
Done this with Macromedia FreeHand MX.
Happy viewing and reading. X3

Very cute and very polished. <3 If you want it to look like a children's book, you've certainly got the style down.
If you want it to read like one, though, that text could take a whole lot more refinement, but that would depend entirely on your target audience. Lets say if it were for ages 4-5, they'd not only have a hard time reading it, but some of those words they just wouldn't know from hearing them. (Though if it were read aloud from a parent, they could certainly explain it to them. Ex: Strolling. Quoth. Drawing. Paces. Avail. Beguile. Despise),
This I can say from personal experience. However, if we move the age range up a little, they'll try pretty hard to understand it on their own. This is where my experience would end and my theories begin: Around 7-10, a child would be able to totally read this on their own and get meaning from it.
The problem with my theory: a difference in years at a smaller age is a lot more critical than a difference is older age.
But this project isn't really about the text, is it? Because otherwise, it's spot on with what you're trying to do.
