Well, it's hatching time! After nearly three weeks of waiting and caring for the eggs in my incubator, they're finally hatching! This little guy was sure persistent in getting out of his egg! Now just have to wait for the other 18 eggs! These are from my mixed pen of Blue and Lavender Orpington and Partridge Chantecler chickens.
Sorry the picture's not great; had to take it from outside the plexi on the top of the incubator. Have a flashlight shining in through a small hole for some light.

These are chicks hatched from my own stock (eg. I own the parents). The parents are dual-purpose birds that can be used for both meat and for laying eggs (and yes, the eggs are yummy lol). I decided to hatch some of my own eggs to make sure I was capable of doing it without a royal screw up before spending money on expensive eggs to hatch from elsewhere.
