Decided to go back to the eagle for this second installment. I'm leaning toward a horse next.
Found a freakishly tiny blade hiding in my blade drawer that I'll be using from now on. Definitely helped with the definition compared the wolf.
African Paduk, less commonly knows as African Coralwood, eagle finished with Peruvian Pine oil stain. I've only ever put a clear finish on this wood before, so this is a bit of an experiment. As the wood is exposed to sunlight, it changes to a sort of purple-brown color, so the eagle may end up almost black. However, I've found that if it's kept out of the sunlight altogether, the color change is nearly unnoticeable.
