Garden of Eden - Troodon [Weight Gain Story Inside!]
Troodon was exhausted. He had traveled for days and days in search of food after departing from his dying tribe. He had argued with his leader long enough. Their food shortage crisis was not only becoming fatal, but the leader refused to uproot the tribe until a reliable food source had been found. Troodon then decided that he would find this reliable food source, or die trying.
The overbearing sun had dehydrated him, and the cold chill of the night had depleted him of most of the energy he had from the meager rations he had managed to take with him. Troodon was not one to give up on his tasks, but with each hour came the withering will to continue. His head hung low as he stared down at the deserty terrain, and he paid little mind to the sudden flourishment of life with each mile he added to his journey. At first, it had been small bushes and struggling sprigs of grass, but by midnoon, Troodon finally opened his half-lidded eyes to see his feet sinking into dampened ground and soft vegetation.
Troodon lifted his head with surprise, and gasped as he took in the sight of endless green. Trees as far as the eye could see, pregnant with fat, red apples, dotted the grassy landscape. The sky was overcast; a sign of impending rains.
The parched reptile dug his claws into the earth and raked into the weeping dirt, where the hole quickly filled with water from the fresh precipitation. He dropped to his knees and filled his hands with the water. He hastily brought it to his mouth, but after his first gulp, he dropped his head straight to the small puddle and swallowed mouthful after mouthful.
He could have drank the entire field dry, had he a mind to, but hunger finally brought his head up. He licked his moist lips and stood, noting that his belly sloshed from the greedy drink he had indulged in.
Troodon trekked his way up the nearest hill to the welcoming shade of a blossoming tree. He scooped up the fallen fruits into his arms before dropping down beside the trunk with a pleasant huff. He set down his load of apples, twenty, he had counted, and didn't hesitate to stuff the first one entirely into his waiting maw.
The taste of the fruit nearly brought him to tears. It was so filling, so delectable and sweet, he held it in his mouth for a torturous moment before swallowing. Such a delightful experience brought the next apple to his lips without a moments hesitation. The produce crunched wonderfully under his teeth and went down in a single swallow. With that, he reached for the third, and the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh.
One of his paws sat against his warm, full belly as he reached for the eighth. His energy returned with every apple he took in, and with every apple he took in, his shrunken frame began to fill out as it had before his long, abusive journey. He crammed the apples into his mouth at a steady pace as his belly began to bulge outward, falling between his legs.
He reached down for another apple, but alas, he had eaten them all! The saur stood up on his noticably thicker thighs and reached upward to pick an apple straight from the low-hanging branches of the tree. He bent the whole branch down with his tug, but the apple stuck stubbornly. Troodon grunt and gave a mighty heave, and the apple broke loose with a wonderful snap from the branch launching upward. The entire tree swayed from the force, and hundreds of apples within the branches broke free, nearly sending Troodon off of his feet.
The reptile chuckled and dropped back to the ground, glad to be surrounded by the fat fruits. Now without having to worry about his feast running low, he resumed his gluttonous gobbling. Instead of taking each apple at a time, he began to take two and three into his maw at once. With each swallow, his belly bulged further into his lap as the apples converted to the energy he had been desperate for.
His rear became plump and his tail itself began to thicken at the base. Troodon hummed contently and stretched his toes out, not entirely noticing that they couldn't spread very far at all. He leaned down to grab more apples, now beginning to rely more on feeling than sight as his chin sank into his pillowing flesh. The greedy beast now began to eat at a faster pace, briefly thinking of ceasing his feast to begin his travel home to give the good news to his tribe. However, remembering his terrible adventure to make it to this wonderful garden, he decided that it would be much better to eat as much as he can while he can.
With that, his fat fingers took the fruits to his waiting, seemingly unclosing jaws. He continued to eat as though it were his first apple of the day, but the fattening shape of his body told otherwise. His hips filled out along with his stomach, rolling into one another, and his flabby arms began to swell with the sustenance of the apples. His nostrils flared as the scent of the apples drove him to keep reached for more. He couldn't see past his belly anymore; that was okay, his tail could drag the apples right to his sides.
Troodon groaned pleasantly as his full belly dug into his thighs, completely smothering them. His feet pressed into the massive bulge of it, which he wiggled slightly to massage the sensitive flesh.
After several more enormous mouthfuls, Troodon's fat, nearly immobile tail could no longer find the fruit he sought. He growled slightly and heaved his gigantic weight to the side as much as he could, and blinked as he realized that every single apple that had fallen had been consumed!
Troodon rolled onto his back, his legs splayed wide and arms open in the soft, wet grass. He reached to pat his gravid belly, which stood at a fascinating 10 feet in front of him. It nearly bumped the lowest branch of the tree. Perhaps if he could find another apple, he could reach it...

This is pretty much how I imagine Troodon came to have his gluttonous appetite; he's always had more concern for the present than the future, and always has the mindset if he doesn't eat what he can now, he may not be able to later. His sense of restraint goes out the window when presented with an abundance of food. He's gluttonous at the best of times; after an extended period of deprivation there's no real stopping him. Faced with a situation like this, he probably wouldn't come to his senses until he's immobile or nearly so, or there's just no more apples within his ability to reach lol.
I always imagined he left his tribe to join more advanced civilization due to his dislike of having to suffer from the lack of a reliable food source hunter/gatherers would have to deal with. He never really felt he had "enough" even in more plentiful times (where he filled out quite significantly until the next shortage hit).
In more modern civilization he manages to not be worried about food shortages, so he manages to exercise a little more self control, but it's easy to tempt him with an over-abundance of food. As often happens lol.
