I've had some strange stuff happening to me lately. I'd only just started calling it normal that I can turn from a 3' half-dragon, half-unicorn hybrid into a 300' dragon, and yet now I'm finding that I can be much, much larger or sometimes stay relatively small (adult image). Then there was that time that I was overwhelmed with magical power even when not a dragon. All of these events made it clear to me that it was time to investigate my heritage again. Surely my lineage is full of gifted magic-users given the species. I just need to find out how to draw my abilities out.
To that end, I've decided that my own research isn't enough. I'd heard word of a shaman who grows to large sizes with ease and has supposedly made wishes come true. While it was understandable that most did not believe the tales of his existence, I felt that I had to seek him out in the hopes of learning how he controls his skills. Following the legends, I located him in a forest largely untouched by civilization. He was surprisingly welcoming and sympathetic to my purpose, and after a day spent in tribal wear and learning of magical rituals and of his own history with using his powers, I was issued a challenge: to match his scale after he grew to much larger than my usual 300' size. Despite everything he had said throughout the day seeming like nonsense, I found myself with a sort of intuitive understanding of it from exposure alone. Growing to his size with ease, he then pointed out what he considered to be a final lesson. Looking up at the stars, he reminded me that no matter my scale, in the grand scheme of things I will always be a small being in a massive universe, controlling and borrowing forces rather than creating them.
Magic isn't something I call from within. It's an outside force that those of my lineage can instinctively control. With this realization under my belt, I was told to discover my potential on my own as we gazed upwards at things more significant than us.

Kurrikage's tauren. I don't get nearly enough serene images, and VegaBone did an absolutely wonderful job with this. Please give him watches and favorites!

I don't know about senses and feeling, but I know I've been trying to feel out some sort of "power source" within me with magic. It's not like that, though. Just as we don't often feel still air on our skins, fur, and scales, so too is magic an outside source that often goes unnoticed. I shouldn't be aiming to start by creating something within me. I should be aiming to identify the ever-present force that I've been ignoring and pull it into me to release to some effect.

I've been alone for almost my entire life. The power that drives me is the urge to feel loved...to feel wanted by someone. Your feelings merge with your abilities and you slowly grow based on the forces of the universe that affect you. And for me, it's darkness.
No safety harness for me :V Just catch me!
