So I made this species a long time ago and I wanted to post it heeeere since I took it off my commissions account >>
The name is based off of the Dragon Age dwarven word, salroka, meaning "Friend". Most commonly used by the casteless. Literally means "one at my side".
They are magical, spiritual creatures.
Their orbs contain their heart, surrounded by wispy clouds. You can never see their hearts through the clouds, which protects them. The color of the orb corresponds to how they are emotionally in relationships. The color cannot change unless the individual goes through something completely life changing and dramatic. The clouds within the orb also tell a bit about the personality of the salraka, this one I allow more leeway with in changes and meanings.
The position of the orb also tells something about their personality.
If the orb is on the forehead the individual tends to be more thoughtful about their emotions, they think through things and tend to be more intellectually minded.
If the orb is in the abdomen the individual tends to be more heartfelt about things and feels emotions very deeply.
If the orb is in the pelvis the individual tends to be more sexually oriented and/or goes with their gut feeling about things.
If the orb is disconnected from the body and held, the individual tends to distance themselves from their emotions.
Their eye colors correspond to their souls. Like the old saying "the eyes are the window to the soul". This color corresponds to how they view the world around them.
Their eyes glow in the dark and they can see in the dark.
Salraka tend to be nocturnal but there are diurnal occurrences. Their horns vary, as well as the size of their orb. They have forked tongues. The color of their fur varies greatly as well, they can be natural colored to rainbow colored. Females tend to be slightly larger than males, becoming voluptuous as they age, especially after childbirth. Males are almost always thin and small-boned.
