Here is a very old thing that I decided to first now complete and post here.
This story started out as an interactive story thing on writing.com, where me and my old pal
pokemonking2000 worked on different parts of it. (He for one worked at the first things in it with all the pets.)
About halfway into this finished thing we stopped and for a few years it was just left there, until now when I decided to write an ending for it and post it here for you all.
So I hope you enjoy now some more "Littlest Pet Shop" shenanigans as this is once again something made back in my "Fan Boy" days.
Littlest Pet Shop belongs to Hasbro Studios.
"I bet you all are wondering why I've gathered you here today" Sunil announced to the rest of the pets, as they were all sitting down in front of him like an audience.
"You already told us, darling! We're here to see a new magic trick! Now go on with the show" Zoe encouraged.
"Ok, ok. Now, I'll need a volunteer from the audience!" Sunil declared in his on-stage voice.
"Not me again, dude!" Vinnie jumped up into a standing position, with a very frightened look on his face. "Last time I did that for you, I ended up on the roof! Of a different building!"
"Hmm, how about you, Minka?" Sunil asked.
"Nope!" She simply exclaimed with nothing else to add.
"Umm ok. How about Penny Ling?"
"Oh, I'd love to Sunil, but I don't want to risk anything with my ribbon dancing recital coming up that my owner have planned for me. If something happens, I won't be able to perform!" The panda girl said very polite, while still being a bit worried that she would risk hurting Sunil's feelings by rejecting his offer.
"*sigh* I see. How about Russell?" Sunil asked the hedgehog.
"Me? No, I couldn't." Russell said. (He wasn't really known to be an "on-stage" kind of hedgehog after all.)
The rest of the pets prodded him to go up there, as none of them was wanting to do it themselves.
"Fine," Russell said, just wanting this to be done and over with. He stood up and positioned himself next to Sunil.
"Excellent!" He said, "Now watch as I make Russell DISAPPEAR!" He shouted dramatically as he waved his wand at Russell. A white flash came across him, but he didn't disappear. In fact, it seemed nothing had happened at all.
Russell checked himself over. He was still orange All his limbs were still intact. His tail was good. It seemed he had all his spines. His face was good. It looked like nothing happened. "Sorry, Sunil" Russell said truthfully apologetic, "Looks like nothing happened."
"Hey, Rusty. Did you just get taller?" Vinnie asked.
"First of all, Vinnie, I hate it when you call me that nickname and you know it. Secondly, I've finished my growing cycle for a hedgehog and I know I'm short so stop rubbing it in!"
"No, Russell. I think Vinnie's right. Your getting taller! Bigger overall actually!" Penny Ling remarked.
Russell looked at Sunil who was standing right next to him. Russell used to be shorter than Sunil, but now he was looking down at him slightly. In fact, he was looking down more and more at everybody. He was certainly growing!
"Uhh, Sunil," Russell asked in a panicked tone, "what did you do??"
"I assure you, I did not do this on purpose! And I don't know how to fix it!!" The mongoose explained whilst scared.
Russell used to be about a foot tall, but now he was double that height and still going! He wasn't just getting taller, but bigger overall! His entire body was filling out so that he kept his proportions even though he was about five feet tall now!
The rest of the pets backed up slowly, in shock. Russell had just surpassed Blythe's height and was still going! His little chubby figure now stood at eight feet, with more of an omnipotent air. His little belly, now added to the weight on this nine foot monster hedgehog!
Russell was scared himself. What if this couldn't be reversed? How big was he going to get? Thank god he stopped at ten feet tall. His spines on the top of his head scraped the ceiling so he had to crouch down as to not damage the building. And it was a high ceiling!
There they all were. Uncomfortable. Scared. They didn't know what to do.
Russell sat down on the floor so he wouldn't have to bend down. He couldn't curl up into a ball like he usually did when he was freaked out because if he accidentally rolled on one of his friends, it would hurt them. Especially because he was covered in spines!
He was sitting with his legs spread out so the pets could walk up to him. They formed a crowd in front of him, in between his feet. Pepper, feeling brave, walked up to the bottom of his stomach. She put a paw into it. It sunk into Russell's massive paunch. Even though he was giant, he still managed to keep his extra weight from when he was normal.
"Quickly Sunil! You can't let me be stuck in this form!" Russell said scared, his voice having a much more deeper tone to it giving his enormous size. "But I don't know what to do!" Sunil said back, just as scared.
"What do you mean?" Russell asked confused, "Don't you have any counter spell that you can cast?" "I actually just made this spell up this morning, and I had no idea it would actually work." Sunil explained.
"Does this mean I will be stuck like this forever?" Russell asked, before feeling his now enormous stomach gave away a monstrous sounding roar of hunger.
"I don't think I will be able to even make it through dinner time." Russell said. "No worries my friend." Sunil tried to calm him down. "I just go away and practice this spell on some harmless object like a ball or a bowl, and try on them until I found the way to turn everything back to its normal size." Sunil explained and left the other pets with the giant Russell to practice in peace.
Russell sighed over the fact that he would be stuck like this for at least a while. Zoe tried to make him feel better by saying, "There, there. Sunil is of trying to find the way to turn you back to old self again. Your friends are here to help you with everything you need, and at least it can't get any worse."
And just at that moment the five normal sized pets, and the giant Russell heard the sound of footsteps coming this way.
"Oh, no! Your stomach's call for food must have gotten someone's attention!" Zoe said in panic, as the other pets started to run around getting panicking as well. The only one that wasn't doing this was Russell, who just sat on his place because he knew moving in his condition could accidentally hurt anyone that happen to be near him.
"We have to get Russell away from this room!" Minka shouted.
"We can't. The dude is like, massive and stuff. We won't be able to rub him!" Vinnie said back.
They pretty soon realized that Russell wasn't going to be able to move, and they wouldn't either have time to cover him up or anything before the person in question enters.
Unless that person coming through that door was Blythe they would have a really hard time knowing what to do.
The one that entered the room wasn't Blythe but Mrs. Twombly (The owner of the pet shop), and walking in she couldn't believe what her eyes was seeing, as she saw the small pets surrounding this huge hedgehog looking thing. (And Russell was making sure to not move a single muscle right now.)
"Oh my!" She said surprised, as she entered the room.
The pets felt really scared now. Russell was on full display for Twombly, and they had no idea on what to do. All they could do was to watch as she walked up closer and closer to the ten feet tall hedgehog. As she was walking up to him Mrs. Twombly didn't speak a single word, but her shocked face told the pets everything.
It wasn't until she was so close to Russell that she could touch him that she said, "That must be the Biggest plush toy I have seen." All the pets felt a slight relief as she just thought Russell was giant plush doll, but they got something to fear again when she started to feel on him!
She put her hand on his chubby belly and felt how warm and soft it felt for her to touch. "It is so lifelike as well." She said loudly as she moved her hand over to the spines on his back, and just like with his belly she could feel just how real it all felt. "But these spines could be a little less harder. If someone accidentally would bump into these things it wouldn't be pretty."
While feeling his spines Russell took the chance to blink his eyes for the first time in a while. (Pretending to be a plush toy wasn't as easy as it looks.) But he and the other pets had bigger things to fear than that. What was Mrs. Twombly be doing next?
After looking at Russell a bit more Mrs. Twombly picked up her mobile phone and started making a call, to who the pets didn't know yet.
"Hello? Is this "Pennsylvania Plush Toys"? I seem to have got an incorrect order to my pet shop. You seem to have sent me a ten foot tall hedgehog plush that I didn't order...Yes, I'm serious. ..I'm standing next to it right now...How it loos like? Hold on a second." She look back at Russell before going back to the phone. "It has an orange fur coat, with a slightly more peachy shade on it's face and stomach. It also has brown quills, and green eyes. Does that help?...You can't find anything looking like that in you register? But someone at your company must have dropped this off here. Something this big just doesn't appear out of nowhere!"
Mrs. Twombly continued on for several more minutes arguing with the man on the other side of the line, demanding them to send a truck down to the pet shop so they could get rid of it. All this while the pets worries over what was going to happen to their friend.
"No, I'm telling you that there is a ten foot tall hedgehog plushy sitting here in my pet shop...Yes Seriously...Hello? Hello?!"
Mrs. Twombly realized that they had hooked up, so she put her cell phone back into her pocket. They probably thought that she was joking. (And honestly, could you really blame them?)
"Great! Just great"" She said irritated. "How am I suppose to get this big thing away from the pet shop on my own?"
Looking at the huge hedgehog she could see that the spines on it's head almost reached the roof. "How someone got this into the pet shop in the first place I have no idea." She said as she left the room.
Once she was gone Russell could stop the act, and start moving his arms and blinking again. "I never though I would get a change to blink." Russell said, as he let his eyes blink like mad to make them feel better.
"Russell!" Pepper whispered. "Don't talk so loudly, she might hear you."
"Oh, I'm sorry Pepper." Russell said while trying to whisper, doing so he found out that his whispering had the same volume as his previous normal speaking voice, meaning he must have come of as shouting before. "I just don't know what to do. With my new size I can't really hide anywhere, or even leave the room. And if Mrs. Twombly finds out I'm not a plush...I don't even want to think about it!" He said covering his hands in his face.
"Well, at least NOW things can't get any worse." Vinnie said, and predictable as always when someone says that something bad was bound to happen!
All of the sudden they heard the sound of Mrs. Twombly coming back. Russell got back into trying to look like a plush, and the rest of the pets just tried to act natural.
"There." She said very pleased as she walked in. "I've just called some movers to come over here, and take that huge thing away. They should be here in just a couple of minutes."
All the pets started to go crazy from hearing this, and while Mrs. Twombly tried to calm them down for what ever reason they where acting like this, Minka rushed over to where Sunil was to see if he had a cure yet.
Inside in the room next door Sunil sat and meditated, trying to find the answer to the problem from inside. Suddenly his mind was interrupted by a certain pink hysterical monkey entering the room.
"SUNIL!" She shouted. "RUSSELL! TWOMBLY! CALL! MOVERS!"
"Take it easy Minka." Sunil said, being in another room he didn't have a clue on what had been going on.
"What was it you wanted?" He asked calmly.
"Do you have any cure to fix Russell yet?" Minka asked still super stressed by the situation, but still very calm for being Minka.
"I might have something fixed in a while. When does he need it?" He asked.
"In about a couple of minutes from now." Minka answered.
"Oh, okay...WHAT?!" Sunil shouted shocked.
"About two, three minutes. Maybe five if we're lucky." Minka said, thinking that she needed to be more clear with the details.
"You can't be serious!" Was all the shocked Sunil managed to say.
"Oh no, it is so. Tell me you got a spell inside there somewhere that can fix Russell this instance?" Minka said, and pointed at the centre between Sunil's eyes.
Hoping to hear some good news come out of him Sunil sadly just said. "I'm sorry, but for now my mind is completely blank." This was not at all what Minka wanted to hear. She felt she had a responsibility when she got in there for Sunil to have a counter spell, and then bring him back to the others. She was not going to take no for an answer!
Before Sunil know what happen Minka jumped on top of him, and started to knock on his head with her paws. "You must have a spell somewhere inside there that can help us, where is it?!" She said stressfully while continuing to bonk his head.
Minka continued to try and get Sunil to "think", until she head the sound of the door opening and people entering!
"Oh, I'm so glad you're here." She heard Mrs. Twombly say.
Minka looked back at Sunil hoping that he had managed to find a solution at the very last second, but all she got from him was a sad "I'm sorry."
Back in the play room Mrs. Twombly had let two men from the moving company inside, and upon entering they both got very surprised by what they saw. They had been told about how big it was, but the had just thought she had been exaggerated.
"Where do you want us to take it?" One of the men asked, and Mrs. Twombly was quick to answer, "I can't think of any good place to put it, so maybe at the city dump?"
Minka and Sunil returned just in time to hear that, making both them and the pets really worried. "They are going to toss Russell away at the dump!" Zoe said.
They looked at Sunil hoping to hear that he had a cure, but they just got shakings of heads from both he and Minka. They looked up at Russell hoping he could just do something, but they know he wouldn't. If he started to move now he would become a huge thing (No pun intended) in the news. They would probably put him into some science lab and do tests at him, and they would never get to see him again. They had to find another way to solve this.
As the men started to try and move Russell they could feel just how much he actually weight as well. Being that he had to fill out that huge body volume he had now, he had weight at least a few hundred's of pounds!
"What is this thing filled with, cement?" One of the men asks while trying to drag Russell out. Once they got to the doors of the shop things got a bit more tricky. They had to try and get his arms out separately before taking the rest of his body to make things easier. Without them noticing Russell helped moving his arms a little when they tried to get them through, just to not having to drag this out any longer then it needed to be.
Once out the movers took and placed him inside a small truck that they where using for storing things like pianos and complete furnishings, and it was just barley they got Russell inside of it! As this was going on the other pets just stood on wondering what to do.
Unknown to the pets, on the other side of the street there was a certain couple of twin sisters sitting in a coffee shop spying on them.
It was the Biskit Twin, who had been asked by their dad to spy on the Littlest Pet Shop.
With his "Largest Ever Pet Shop" he was having a total monopoly on the pet shop business. No other pet shop could stand up against his huge amount of supplies and products...except for Littlest Pet Shop. No matter what he did to boost his own sales the Littlest Pet Shop still seemed to make enough money to stay open, and even (dare he say it) rival his own business!
Wanting to get to the bottom of this he had asked his twin daughters Brittany and Whittany to spy on the pet shop and report to him if they saw anything that could be the reason for the small pet shop's success. They themselves really didn't care about any of it, but their dad was prepared to pay them good money for it so they just accepted it.
For them it was a really, REALLY boring job. All they did once they where done with school for the day was to stare on the entrance to the pet shop, just to see if something unusual was happening. They could go inside and look there but Blythe usually would be seen working inside there and she knew them very well from how much they where bullying her in school, so she would very quickly figure out once seeing them in the pet shop that they would be up to no good.
So instead they spend their days hanging at the same coffee shop almost every day. It was only an "okay" place to them, but since it was laying so close to the pet shop it was the easiest place for them to spy from. (Plus it had free Wi-Fi). So for most days they just ordered some drinks and played with their cell phones, and occasionally looked up to see if something strange was happening in the pet shop, to them finally going back to their dad and rapport that nothing had been seen today either.
And today it looked to be just the same kind of boring "watching the pet shop" day for them.
"Like, what's the point of this? We have never seen anything unusual happen for like, forever!" Brittany complained.
"But we get like, free money from dad for doing it." Whittany said.
"I know, but if I have to order another Shake Lemon Latte, I think I like, get insane!" Brittany continued to complain.
"Yeah, you have like, a point there Brittany. Maybe we should just tell dad that we..." Whittany said before stopping suddenly.
"That we...what Whittany?" Brittany said, looking up from her cell phone to see her twin sister staring out the window. Doing the same she couldn't believe what she and her sister saw.
Outside they could both see how the giant Russell was being carried out of the pet shop and stored inside the movers truck.
"Like, what is that?" Brittany said shocked.
"I think it looks like a giant hedgehog." Whittany answered, not realizing it was rhetorical question.
"I know that." Brittany said irritated. "I meant what is Blythe and that old lady using a giant hedgehog thing for?"
"Maybe it's their new way of marketing the place?" Whittany suggested.
"Marketing with that? How?" Brittany asked.
"Maybe something will pop out of it, and there will be songs and sounds telling people to go the littlest pet shop? You do remember daddy's spaceship trick he did once, right?" Whittany answered.
Brittany didn't know what to say to that. She didn't expect her twin sister to have such a well formulated answer ready to her, so all she could say was. "And now Blythe and that old lady tries to steal our dad's ideas!" She said angrily.
"We must do something but what?" Whittany asked.
"Let's follow that truck and see where it goes." Brittany said, and quickly finished her latte. Whittany was quick to follow her sister, and they both made their way outside to see that the truck was finished packing and was starting to drive off.
"It's getting away!" Brittany said. "Quick, get back to the limo so we can follow it!" Whittany said, as they both run back to their personal limo.
Inside of it in the drivers seat was their always trusty robot butler Monban. (That the Biskit's felt was more reliable then any human butler could ever be.) They told it to follow that truck that was driving off, and it did so without asking any questions on why.
As they where following it Whittany asked, "Where do you think they are taking that hedgehog to?"
"I don't know, but it has to be somewhere where a lot of people will be able to see it." Brittany answered.
"But it seems to be on it's way to drive out of town Brittany." Whittany said.
At first neither of them could understand why it was taking the hedgehog out of town, but then Brittany said. "Of course! They are like, taking it out of town so they can let people know about it before they are even entering the city!"
"I had no idea they where sooooo clever." Whittany said impressed.
They followed on until it entered the city dumps where the truck went through an entrance that only staff could go through, so the twins had to stop outside.
"The city dump? Why would they put their big commercial gimmick here if they want to alert customers?" Whittany asked.
"I don't know, but I'm sure that this is all part of some kind of big scheme that we just don't know about yet." Brittany said, as they both got out of their limo.
Despite having big gates keeping them outside, the Biskit Twins knew full well a few tricks to let themselves inside.
Having Monban with them the Biskit had no problems ordering him to use his laser eye to create a passing way through the steel fence surrounding the place, and helping them get inside.
"And now Whittany, we shall go and find that giant Hedgehog!" Brittany said as the two of them (Plus their robot butler) started searching the dumps.
Hiding from behind a large pile of junk Russell finally felt that he could start moving around again, and that's when he heard the sound of the Biskit's being at the same place as him!
"The Biskit Twins! What are they doing here?!" Russell thought as he carefully peaked out from behind the pile to get a good look at them. "Blythe! Gang! Where are you guys?!" Russell asked himself worrying.
Back at the Pet Shop Blythe had just come back from school when she was being confronted by almost all of the pets, (Except for Russell) as they where all either screaming or rambling in panic all at the same time.
"Woah! Woah! Take it easy there friends!" Blythe said as she then looked around to see that someone was missing.
"Does anyone know where Russell is?" Blythe asked as once again all the pets started to answer her at once.
"It's Sunil's magic!"
"He made Russell grow into a giant!"
"Then Twombly came in!"
"And sent Russell to the City Dump!"
"Wait! Wait! So you are saying that Sunil made Russell a giant and then he somehow ended up at the dump?!" Blythe said, as even saying it all in one sentence made little sense at the moment.
Still if it was true that Russell was out there by himself then she needed to act quickly if she wanted to save him, so she ask Sunil and Vinnie to jump into her Scooter basket as the three of them made their way.
During the trip Sunil and Vinnie both took turns explaining all the details of how Russell had been having his sudden grow spurt, to when Mrs. Twombly had come in and made her calls, and finally when those movers came in and took him away!
"Thinking about this now Blythe, how come you brought only me and Sunil with you and not all of us to help rescue Russell?" Vinnie asked confused, to which Blythe explained "Because I don't want to risk any more of you getting into any trouble, and therefore I only brought the once that could really help. Sunil since he is the only one able to change Russell back to normal again, and you Vinnie cause you have been at the dump one time before and knows the place better then anyone else of us does.
"Oh how kind of you Blythe." Vinnie said, to which Sunil added "Yeah. I just hope that I have come up with a working counter-spell when we find him."
Once they reached the city dump the three of them found that someone else had been cutting up a hole in the protective fence, and they decided to also use that as their entrance.
"We need to find Russell quickly! Vinnie, I want you to climb up the nearest high point you can find and try to locate him." Blythe said, and the gecko was quick to start climbing up the nearest pile.
Once up he had a really good view of the whole place, and after seeing a few important things he quickly got back down again.
"Did you find anything Vinnie?" Blythe asked as the gecko landed in her hands, and Vinnie could report that "I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I saw where Russell was, and the bad news is that I also saw the Biskit Twins heading towards his way!"
"Then we need to hurry before they spot him!" Blythe said as the three of them rushed for all they where worth towards where Vinnie had seen Russell hiding.
As they made their way Vinnie's eyes caught on to something, and without telling the others he made a detour from them.
What he had seen that would slow down the Biskit's for a while was the controls to a giant magnet that was used for lifting metal junk over to the crusher, and the biggest help to the Biskit's just happen to be a walking metal thing!
The controls to it looked very simple and just by pressing the big red button at the control panel Vinnie made the magnet start up, and just as he had planned Monban just so happen to be under it and was taken up!
"Monban! What are you doing?" Whittany asked, as Brittany shouted "You come back now this instant, or we will fire you!"
"Takes care of that problem." Vinnie said as quickly rushed off to catch up with the rest.
But without him knowing it his tail had accidentally switches a lever that made the whole crane start turning, and as it turned Monban was getting closer towards the crusher!
Then it just so happen that both of the machines had a bit of a "auto pilot" function, as the magnet turned itself off once being over the crusher, and said crusher started to (well...) crushing once it felt something was inside of t.
The two twin sisters could just stare in shock as their personal robot butler and driver got pressed and destroyed, and later came out as only a small metal cube!
Over at Blythe and Sunil they found the pile Russell was hiding behind, and they even managed to scare the giant a little bit as he was to busy to look around the other side to notice that they had been sneaking up behind him.
"Blythe! Sunil! Oh how glad I am to see you again!" Russell said in his whispering (But to them normal speaking) voice, to which Blythe said "I am also glad that you are alright Russell, but I had a hard time believing that Sunil's magic had really turned you into a giant!"
"Neither could I, but here I am." Russell said, and the much smaller Sunil quickly made his way towards his giant friend and said "Don't worry Russell! I should be able to fix you now!"
He then starts waving his wand in a similar fashion as last time, and just as last time a big white flash happen before showing Russell still in his overgrown state.
"NO!!! It didn't work!" Russell cried out, with Sunil just holding up a paw and saying "Just give it a few moments."
And just like with his sudden growth spurt the shrinking of Russell took some time to get started, but once it happen it was happening quickly!
Feet after feet Russell was shrinking back down, and just when he was afraid he might get to small this time it stopped.
"I'm back at my normal size again! Thank you Sunil, thank you!" Russell said as he rushed over to give Sunil so sudden hugs before asking, "But how did you know what to do to make me shrink down again?"
"Quite simple actually. I just did the same motions I did before, but this time I did the whole routine backwards instead." The Mongoose proudly explained.
At that moment they could all hear the sound of two teenage girl bickering and complaining loudly growing closer, and Blythe quickly took and hide Russell in her backpack just before the Biskit Twins showed up.
"Okay, where is it?!" Brittany asked as the two of them was looking around frenetically.
"Where is what?" Blythe asked, to which Brittany snapped and said "Like, the enormous hedgehog that is a part of your obscure yet genius Pet Shop commercial gimmick!", to which Whittany added with a simple "Well Duh."
"Well I for one has not seen any giant hedgehog thingy here. I was just here to...gather some metal scraps to make some nice accessories for my latest collection." Blythe said as she picked up some random pieces of metal to make up a fake reason for being here.
"Nice try Blythe, but we totally know that you know we where coming!" Brittany said, with Whittany adding "And that's why you took and hide it from us before we could get here!"
"I have no idea how I would be able to hide something that is so big as you make it out to be, but if you want you can search this whole place without me complaining." Blythe said as she gathered Sunil and Vinnie in her hands and was heading back towards where they all entered.
"Oh believe me, we will!" Brittany said and Whittany added with "And we wont stop until we have searched every single part of this dump!" before they both wandered of to search the nearest pile in the hopes of finding that giant hedgehog.
Back at the pet shop everyone was super happy to see that Russell was both safe and back to his normal height.
Sunil once again apologised for causing so much trouble for Russell in the first place, and the hedgehog just replied that "No worries really my friend. After all, in the end everything turned out just fine for everyone."
Meanwhile at the City Dump
"Sis, do we really have to keep looking for it? It is night-time now! Whittany whined.
"Stop complaining so much! We will find it, and we wont let Littlest Pet Shop make fun of us like this. So keep digging!" Brittany shouted, as the two evil twins went back to being knee deep in all the garbage.

"Not me again, dude!" Vinnie jumped up into a standing position, with a very frightened look on his face. "Last time I did that for you, I ended up on the roof! Of a different building!"
"Hmm, how about you, Minka?" Sunil asked.
"Nope!" She simply exclaimed with nothing else to add.
"Umm ok. How about Penny Ling?"
"Oh, I'd love to Sunil, but I don't want to risk anything with my ribbon dancing recital coming up that my owner have planned for me. If something happens, I won't be able to perform!" The panda girl said very polite, while still being a bit worried that she would risk hurting Sunil's feelings by rejecting his offer.
"*sigh* I see. How about Russell?" Sunil asked the hedgehog.
"Me? No, I couldn't." Russell said. (He wasn't really known to be an "on-stage" kind of hedgehog after all.)
The rest of the pets prodded him to go up there, as none of them was wanting to do it themselves.
"Fine," Russell said, just wanting this to be done and over with. He stood up and positioned himself next to Sunil.
"Excellent!" He said, "Now watch as I make Russell DISAPPEAR!" He shouted dramatically as he waved his wand at Russell. A white flash came across him, but he didn't disappear. In fact, it seemed nothing had happened at all.
Russell checked himself over. He was still orange All his limbs were still intact. His tail was good. It seemed he had all his spines. His face was good. It looked like nothing happened. "Sorry, Sunil" Russell said truthfully apologetic, "Looks like nothing happened."
"Hey, Rusty. Did you just get taller?" Vinnie asked.
"First of all, Vinnie, I hate it when you call me that nickname and you know it. Secondly, I've finished my growing cycle for a hedgehog and I know I'm short so stop rubbing it in!"
"No, Russell. I think Vinnie's right. Your getting taller! Bigger overall actually!" Penny Ling remarked.
Russell looked at Sunil who was standing right next to him. Russell used to be shorter than Sunil, but now he was looking down at him slightly. In fact, he was looking down more and more at everybody. He was certainly growing!
"Uhh, Sunil," Russell asked in a panicked tone, "what did you do??"
"I assure you, I did not do this on purpose! And I don't know how to fix it!!" The mongoose explained whilst scared.
Russell used to be about a foot tall, but now he was double that height and still going! He wasn't just getting taller, but bigger overall! His entire body was filling out so that he kept his proportions even though he was about five feet tall now!
The rest of the pets backed up slowly, in shock. Russell had just surpassed Blythe's height and was still going! His little chubby figure now stood at eight feet, with more of an omnipotent air. His little belly, now added to the weight on this nine foot monster hedgehog!
Russell was scared himself. What if this couldn't be reversed? How big was he going to get? Thank god he stopped at ten feet tall. His spines on the top of his head scraped the ceiling so he had to crouch down as to not damage the building. And it was a high ceiling!
There they all were. Uncomfortable. Scared. They didn't know what to do.
Russell sat down on the floor so he wouldn't have to bend down. He couldn't curl up into a ball like he usually did when he was freaked out because if he accidentally rolled on one of his friends, it would hurt them. Especially because he was covered in spines!
He was sitting with his legs spread out so the pets could walk up to him. They formed a crowd in front of him, in between his feet. Pepper, feeling brave, walked up to the bottom of his stomach. She put a paw into it. It sunk into Russell's massive paunch. Even though he was giant, he still managed to keep his extra weight from when he was normal.
"Quickly Sunil! You can't let me be stuck in this form!" Russell said scared, his voice having a much more deeper tone to it giving his enormous size. "But I don't know what to do!" Sunil said back, just as scared.
"What do you mean?" Russell asked confused, "Don't you have any counter spell that you can cast?" "I actually just made this spell up this morning, and I had no idea it would actually work." Sunil explained.
"Does this mean I will be stuck like this forever?" Russell asked, before feeling his now enormous stomach gave away a monstrous sounding roar of hunger.
"I don't think I will be able to even make it through dinner time." Russell said. "No worries my friend." Sunil tried to calm him down. "I just go away and practice this spell on some harmless object like a ball or a bowl, and try on them until I found the way to turn everything back to its normal size." Sunil explained and left the other pets with the giant Russell to practice in peace.
Russell sighed over the fact that he would be stuck like this for at least a while. Zoe tried to make him feel better by saying, "There, there. Sunil is of trying to find the way to turn you back to old self again. Your friends are here to help you with everything you need, and at least it can't get any worse."
And just at that moment the five normal sized pets, and the giant Russell heard the sound of footsteps coming this way.
"Oh, no! Your stomach's call for food must have gotten someone's attention!" Zoe said in panic, as the other pets started to run around getting panicking as well. The only one that wasn't doing this was Russell, who just sat on his place because he knew moving in his condition could accidentally hurt anyone that happen to be near him.
"We have to get Russell away from this room!" Minka shouted.
"We can't. The dude is like, massive and stuff. We won't be able to rub him!" Vinnie said back.
They pretty soon realized that Russell wasn't going to be able to move, and they wouldn't either have time to cover him up or anything before the person in question enters.
Unless that person coming through that door was Blythe they would have a really hard time knowing what to do.
The one that entered the room wasn't Blythe but Mrs. Twombly (The owner of the pet shop), and walking in she couldn't believe what her eyes was seeing, as she saw the small pets surrounding this huge hedgehog looking thing. (And Russell was making sure to not move a single muscle right now.)
"Oh my!" She said surprised, as she entered the room.
The pets felt really scared now. Russell was on full display for Twombly, and they had no idea on what to do. All they could do was to watch as she walked up closer and closer to the ten feet tall hedgehog. As she was walking up to him Mrs. Twombly didn't speak a single word, but her shocked face told the pets everything.
It wasn't until she was so close to Russell that she could touch him that she said, "That must be the Biggest plush toy I have seen." All the pets felt a slight relief as she just thought Russell was giant plush doll, but they got something to fear again when she started to feel on him!
She put her hand on his chubby belly and felt how warm and soft it felt for her to touch. "It is so lifelike as well." She said loudly as she moved her hand over to the spines on his back, and just like with his belly she could feel just how real it all felt. "But these spines could be a little less harder. If someone accidentally would bump into these things it wouldn't be pretty."
While feeling his spines Russell took the chance to blink his eyes for the first time in a while. (Pretending to be a plush toy wasn't as easy as it looks.) But he and the other pets had bigger things to fear than that. What was Mrs. Twombly be doing next?
After looking at Russell a bit more Mrs. Twombly picked up her mobile phone and started making a call, to who the pets didn't know yet.
"Hello? Is this "Pennsylvania Plush Toys"? I seem to have got an incorrect order to my pet shop. You seem to have sent me a ten foot tall hedgehog plush that I didn't order...Yes, I'm serious. ..I'm standing next to it right now...How it loos like? Hold on a second." She look back at Russell before going back to the phone. "It has an orange fur coat, with a slightly more peachy shade on it's face and stomach. It also has brown quills, and green eyes. Does that help?...You can't find anything looking like that in you register? But someone at your company must have dropped this off here. Something this big just doesn't appear out of nowhere!"
Mrs. Twombly continued on for several more minutes arguing with the man on the other side of the line, demanding them to send a truck down to the pet shop so they could get rid of it. All this while the pets worries over what was going to happen to their friend.
"No, I'm telling you that there is a ten foot tall hedgehog plushy sitting here in my pet shop...Yes Seriously...Hello? Hello?!"
Mrs. Twombly realized that they had hooked up, so she put her cell phone back into her pocket. They probably thought that she was joking. (And honestly, could you really blame them?)
"Great! Just great"" She said irritated. "How am I suppose to get this big thing away from the pet shop on my own?"
Looking at the huge hedgehog she could see that the spines on it's head almost reached the roof. "How someone got this into the pet shop in the first place I have no idea." She said as she left the room.
Once she was gone Russell could stop the act, and start moving his arms and blinking again. "I never though I would get a change to blink." Russell said, as he let his eyes blink like mad to make them feel better.
"Russell!" Pepper whispered. "Don't talk so loudly, she might hear you."
"Oh, I'm sorry Pepper." Russell said while trying to whisper, doing so he found out that his whispering had the same volume as his previous normal speaking voice, meaning he must have come of as shouting before. "I just don't know what to do. With my new size I can't really hide anywhere, or even leave the room. And if Mrs. Twombly finds out I'm not a plush...I don't even want to think about it!" He said covering his hands in his face.
"Well, at least NOW things can't get any worse." Vinnie said, and predictable as always when someone says that something bad was bound to happen!
All of the sudden they heard the sound of Mrs. Twombly coming back. Russell got back into trying to look like a plush, and the rest of the pets just tried to act natural.
"There." She said very pleased as she walked in. "I've just called some movers to come over here, and take that huge thing away. They should be here in just a couple of minutes."
All the pets started to go crazy from hearing this, and while Mrs. Twombly tried to calm them down for what ever reason they where acting like this, Minka rushed over to where Sunil was to see if he had a cure yet.
Inside in the room next door Sunil sat and meditated, trying to find the answer to the problem from inside. Suddenly his mind was interrupted by a certain pink hysterical monkey entering the room.
"SUNIL!" She shouted. "RUSSELL! TWOMBLY! CALL! MOVERS!"
"Take it easy Minka." Sunil said, being in another room he didn't have a clue on what had been going on.
"What was it you wanted?" He asked calmly.
"Do you have any cure to fix Russell yet?" Minka asked still super stressed by the situation, but still very calm for being Minka.
"I might have something fixed in a while. When does he need it?" He asked.
"In about a couple of minutes from now." Minka answered.
"Oh, okay...WHAT?!" Sunil shouted shocked.
"About two, three minutes. Maybe five if we're lucky." Minka said, thinking that she needed to be more clear with the details.
"You can't be serious!" Was all the shocked Sunil managed to say.
"Oh no, it is so. Tell me you got a spell inside there somewhere that can fix Russell this instance?" Minka said, and pointed at the centre between Sunil's eyes.
Hoping to hear some good news come out of him Sunil sadly just said. "I'm sorry, but for now my mind is completely blank." This was not at all what Minka wanted to hear. She felt she had a responsibility when she got in there for Sunil to have a counter spell, and then bring him back to the others. She was not going to take no for an answer!
Before Sunil know what happen Minka jumped on top of him, and started to knock on his head with her paws. "You must have a spell somewhere inside there that can help us, where is it?!" She said stressfully while continuing to bonk his head.
Minka continued to try and get Sunil to "think", until she head the sound of the door opening and people entering!
"Oh, I'm so glad you're here." She heard Mrs. Twombly say.
Minka looked back at Sunil hoping that he had managed to find a solution at the very last second, but all she got from him was a sad "I'm sorry."
Back in the play room Mrs. Twombly had let two men from the moving company inside, and upon entering they both got very surprised by what they saw. They had been told about how big it was, but the had just thought she had been exaggerated.
"Where do you want us to take it?" One of the men asked, and Mrs. Twombly was quick to answer, "I can't think of any good place to put it, so maybe at the city dump?"
Minka and Sunil returned just in time to hear that, making both them and the pets really worried. "They are going to toss Russell away at the dump!" Zoe said.
They looked at Sunil hoping to hear that he had a cure, but they just got shakings of heads from both he and Minka. They looked up at Russell hoping he could just do something, but they know he wouldn't. If he started to move now he would become a huge thing (No pun intended) in the news. They would probably put him into some science lab and do tests at him, and they would never get to see him again. They had to find another way to solve this.
As the men started to try and move Russell they could feel just how much he actually weight as well. Being that he had to fill out that huge body volume he had now, he had weight at least a few hundred's of pounds!
"What is this thing filled with, cement?" One of the men asks while trying to drag Russell out. Once they got to the doors of the shop things got a bit more tricky. They had to try and get his arms out separately before taking the rest of his body to make things easier. Without them noticing Russell helped moving his arms a little when they tried to get them through, just to not having to drag this out any longer then it needed to be.
Once out the movers took and placed him inside a small truck that they where using for storing things like pianos and complete furnishings, and it was just barley they got Russell inside of it! As this was going on the other pets just stood on wondering what to do.
Unknown to the pets, on the other side of the street there was a certain couple of twin sisters sitting in a coffee shop spying on them.
It was the Biskit Twin, who had been asked by their dad to spy on the Littlest Pet Shop.
With his "Largest Ever Pet Shop" he was having a total monopoly on the pet shop business. No other pet shop could stand up against his huge amount of supplies and products...except for Littlest Pet Shop. No matter what he did to boost his own sales the Littlest Pet Shop still seemed to make enough money to stay open, and even (dare he say it) rival his own business!
Wanting to get to the bottom of this he had asked his twin daughters Brittany and Whittany to spy on the pet shop and report to him if they saw anything that could be the reason for the small pet shop's success. They themselves really didn't care about any of it, but their dad was prepared to pay them good money for it so they just accepted it.
For them it was a really, REALLY boring job. All they did once they where done with school for the day was to stare on the entrance to the pet shop, just to see if something unusual was happening. They could go inside and look there but Blythe usually would be seen working inside there and she knew them very well from how much they where bullying her in school, so she would very quickly figure out once seeing them in the pet shop that they would be up to no good.
So instead they spend their days hanging at the same coffee shop almost every day. It was only an "okay" place to them, but since it was laying so close to the pet shop it was the easiest place for them to spy from. (Plus it had free Wi-Fi). So for most days they just ordered some drinks and played with their cell phones, and occasionally looked up to see if something strange was happening in the pet shop, to them finally going back to their dad and rapport that nothing had been seen today either.
And today it looked to be just the same kind of boring "watching the pet shop" day for them.
"Like, what's the point of this? We have never seen anything unusual happen for like, forever!" Brittany complained.
"But we get like, free money from dad for doing it." Whittany said.
"I know, but if I have to order another Shake Lemon Latte, I think I like, get insane!" Brittany continued to complain.
"Yeah, you have like, a point there Brittany. Maybe we should just tell dad that we..." Whittany said before stopping suddenly.
"That we...what Whittany?" Brittany said, looking up from her cell phone to see her twin sister staring out the window. Doing the same she couldn't believe what she and her sister saw.
Outside they could both see how the giant Russell was being carried out of the pet shop and stored inside the movers truck.
"Like, what is that?" Brittany said shocked.
"I think it looks like a giant hedgehog." Whittany answered, not realizing it was rhetorical question.
"I know that." Brittany said irritated. "I meant what is Blythe and that old lady using a giant hedgehog thing for?"
"Maybe it's their new way of marketing the place?" Whittany suggested.
"Marketing with that? How?" Brittany asked.
"Maybe something will pop out of it, and there will be songs and sounds telling people to go the littlest pet shop? You do remember daddy's spaceship trick he did once, right?" Whittany answered.
Brittany didn't know what to say to that. She didn't expect her twin sister to have such a well formulated answer ready to her, so all she could say was. "And now Blythe and that old lady tries to steal our dad's ideas!" She said angrily.
"We must do something but what?" Whittany asked.
"Let's follow that truck and see where it goes." Brittany said, and quickly finished her latte. Whittany was quick to follow her sister, and they both made their way outside to see that the truck was finished packing and was starting to drive off.
"It's getting away!" Brittany said. "Quick, get back to the limo so we can follow it!" Whittany said, as they both run back to their personal limo.
Inside of it in the drivers seat was their always trusty robot butler Monban. (That the Biskit's felt was more reliable then any human butler could ever be.) They told it to follow that truck that was driving off, and it did so without asking any questions on why.
As they where following it Whittany asked, "Where do you think they are taking that hedgehog to?"
"I don't know, but it has to be somewhere where a lot of people will be able to see it." Brittany answered.
"But it seems to be on it's way to drive out of town Brittany." Whittany said.
At first neither of them could understand why it was taking the hedgehog out of town, but then Brittany said. "Of course! They are like, taking it out of town so they can let people know about it before they are even entering the city!"
"I had no idea they where sooooo clever." Whittany said impressed.
They followed on until it entered the city dumps where the truck went through an entrance that only staff could go through, so the twins had to stop outside.
"The city dump? Why would they put their big commercial gimmick here if they want to alert customers?" Whittany asked.
"I don't know, but I'm sure that this is all part of some kind of big scheme that we just don't know about yet." Brittany said, as they both got out of their limo.
Despite having big gates keeping them outside, the Biskit Twins knew full well a few tricks to let themselves inside.
Having Monban with them the Biskit had no problems ordering him to use his laser eye to create a passing way through the steel fence surrounding the place, and helping them get inside.
"And now Whittany, we shall go and find that giant Hedgehog!" Brittany said as the two of them (Plus their robot butler) started searching the dumps.
Hiding from behind a large pile of junk Russell finally felt that he could start moving around again, and that's when he heard the sound of the Biskit's being at the same place as him!
"The Biskit Twins! What are they doing here?!" Russell thought as he carefully peaked out from behind the pile to get a good look at them. "Blythe! Gang! Where are you guys?!" Russell asked himself worrying.
Back at the Pet Shop Blythe had just come back from school when she was being confronted by almost all of the pets, (Except for Russell) as they where all either screaming or rambling in panic all at the same time.
"Woah! Woah! Take it easy there friends!" Blythe said as she then looked around to see that someone was missing.
"Does anyone know where Russell is?" Blythe asked as once again all the pets started to answer her at once.
"It's Sunil's magic!"
"He made Russell grow into a giant!"
"Then Twombly came in!"
"And sent Russell to the City Dump!"
"Wait! Wait! So you are saying that Sunil made Russell a giant and then he somehow ended up at the dump?!" Blythe said, as even saying it all in one sentence made little sense at the moment.
Still if it was true that Russell was out there by himself then she needed to act quickly if she wanted to save him, so she ask Sunil and Vinnie to jump into her Scooter basket as the three of them made their way.
During the trip Sunil and Vinnie both took turns explaining all the details of how Russell had been having his sudden grow spurt, to when Mrs. Twombly had come in and made her calls, and finally when those movers came in and took him away!
"Thinking about this now Blythe, how come you brought only me and Sunil with you and not all of us to help rescue Russell?" Vinnie asked confused, to which Blythe explained "Because I don't want to risk any more of you getting into any trouble, and therefore I only brought the once that could really help. Sunil since he is the only one able to change Russell back to normal again, and you Vinnie cause you have been at the dump one time before and knows the place better then anyone else of us does.
"Oh how kind of you Blythe." Vinnie said, to which Sunil added "Yeah. I just hope that I have come up with a working counter-spell when we find him."
Once they reached the city dump the three of them found that someone else had been cutting up a hole in the protective fence, and they decided to also use that as their entrance.
"We need to find Russell quickly! Vinnie, I want you to climb up the nearest high point you can find and try to locate him." Blythe said, and the gecko was quick to start climbing up the nearest pile.
Once up he had a really good view of the whole place, and after seeing a few important things he quickly got back down again.
"Did you find anything Vinnie?" Blythe asked as the gecko landed in her hands, and Vinnie could report that "I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I saw where Russell was, and the bad news is that I also saw the Biskit Twins heading towards his way!"
"Then we need to hurry before they spot him!" Blythe said as the three of them rushed for all they where worth towards where Vinnie had seen Russell hiding.
As they made their way Vinnie's eyes caught on to something, and without telling the others he made a detour from them.
What he had seen that would slow down the Biskit's for a while was the controls to a giant magnet that was used for lifting metal junk over to the crusher, and the biggest help to the Biskit's just happen to be a walking metal thing!
The controls to it looked very simple and just by pressing the big red button at the control panel Vinnie made the magnet start up, and just as he had planned Monban just so happen to be under it and was taken up!
"Monban! What are you doing?" Whittany asked, as Brittany shouted "You come back now this instant, or we will fire you!"
"Takes care of that problem." Vinnie said as quickly rushed off to catch up with the rest.
But without him knowing it his tail had accidentally switches a lever that made the whole crane start turning, and as it turned Monban was getting closer towards the crusher!
Then it just so happen that both of the machines had a bit of a "auto pilot" function, as the magnet turned itself off once being over the crusher, and said crusher started to (well...) crushing once it felt something was inside of t.
The two twin sisters could just stare in shock as their personal robot butler and driver got pressed and destroyed, and later came out as only a small metal cube!
Over at Blythe and Sunil they found the pile Russell was hiding behind, and they even managed to scare the giant a little bit as he was to busy to look around the other side to notice that they had been sneaking up behind him.
"Blythe! Sunil! Oh how glad I am to see you again!" Russell said in his whispering (But to them normal speaking) voice, to which Blythe said "I am also glad that you are alright Russell, but I had a hard time believing that Sunil's magic had really turned you into a giant!"
"Neither could I, but here I am." Russell said, and the much smaller Sunil quickly made his way towards his giant friend and said "Don't worry Russell! I should be able to fix you now!"
He then starts waving his wand in a similar fashion as last time, and just as last time a big white flash happen before showing Russell still in his overgrown state.
"NO!!! It didn't work!" Russell cried out, with Sunil just holding up a paw and saying "Just give it a few moments."
And just like with his sudden growth spurt the shrinking of Russell took some time to get started, but once it happen it was happening quickly!
Feet after feet Russell was shrinking back down, and just when he was afraid he might get to small this time it stopped.
"I'm back at my normal size again! Thank you Sunil, thank you!" Russell said as he rushed over to give Sunil so sudden hugs before asking, "But how did you know what to do to make me shrink down again?"
"Quite simple actually. I just did the same motions I did before, but this time I did the whole routine backwards instead." The Mongoose proudly explained.
At that moment they could all hear the sound of two teenage girl bickering and complaining loudly growing closer, and Blythe quickly took and hide Russell in her backpack just before the Biskit Twins showed up.
"Okay, where is it?!" Brittany asked as the two of them was looking around frenetically.
"Where is what?" Blythe asked, to which Brittany snapped and said "Like, the enormous hedgehog that is a part of your obscure yet genius Pet Shop commercial gimmick!", to which Whittany added with a simple "Well Duh."
"Well I for one has not seen any giant hedgehog thingy here. I was just here to...gather some metal scraps to make some nice accessories for my latest collection." Blythe said as she picked up some random pieces of metal to make up a fake reason for being here.
"Nice try Blythe, but we totally know that you know we where coming!" Brittany said, with Whittany adding "And that's why you took and hide it from us before we could get here!"
"I have no idea how I would be able to hide something that is so big as you make it out to be, but if you want you can search this whole place without me complaining." Blythe said as she gathered Sunil and Vinnie in her hands and was heading back towards where they all entered.
"Oh believe me, we will!" Brittany said and Whittany added with "And we wont stop until we have searched every single part of this dump!" before they both wandered of to search the nearest pile in the hopes of finding that giant hedgehog.
Back at the pet shop everyone was super happy to see that Russell was both safe and back to his normal height.
Sunil once again apologised for causing so much trouble for Russell in the first place, and the hedgehog just replied that "No worries really my friend. After all, in the end everything turned out just fine for everyone."
Meanwhile at the City Dump
"Sis, do we really have to keep looking for it? It is night-time now! Whittany whined.
"Stop complaining so much! We will find it, and we wont let Littlest Pet Shop make fun of us like this. So keep digging!" Brittany shouted, as the two evil twins went back to being knee deep in all the garbage.
