Here's a question for you Fallout fans out there : how can you make a Deathclaw even more dangerous than they already are ?
Easy : give them armor and a goddamn minigun !
As I said previously, Orcus is the result of one of the Think Tank's usual wackily dangerous experiments : a human brain transplanted into the skull of a Deahtclaw Alpha Male. As such, he retained his human intelligence (even if the same couldn't be said about his sanity...) and knows how to use armor and weapons, provided the latter are large enough for his huge claws to handle.
And here's a little breakdown of his armor :
- LEFT SHOULDER :
Salvaged power armor pauldron, adorned with a Yao Guai skull.
- LEFT ARM :
Makeshift metal gauntlet, outfitted with a modified .12 gauge sawed-off shotgun.
- RIGHT SHOULDER :
Metal pauldron, fashioned from a military truck's mudguard; his shoulder-mounted machinegun is attached to it and can be lowered to a horizontal position to shoot.
- RIGHT ARM :
Upper-arm armor crafted from a leather band and the pieces of a military vehicle's tracks.
- TORSO :
Metal chestpiece, adorned with repurposed roadsigns and a (partially hidden by the left forearm) piece of truck tire.
- MISCELLANEOUS :
As usual, a pip-boy and Legion coins around his right horn.
The Deathclaw species and Fallout universe belong to Bethesda;
Orcus is mine.

Just when I thought deathclaws could not get even more lethal, they did,
If my time in new vegas taught me anything is that the only thing worse then a baby deathclaw is a cazadore;
Only thing worse then a cazadore is an alpha/legendary deathclaw, or heaven forbid a Caza-Claw,
All in all not bad...

If you ever go look up the cazaclaw mod for new vegas, the comments are pretty entertaining. Honestly first time I played OWB, i half expected to hear Cave Jhonson or GlaDOS over the PA system...
While Nv deathclaws (and are ) fearsome, the commonwealths claws seam to be ... Not as tanky and their dc and Nv counterparts, they are certianly faster and with the ability to cloak and grapple people, make up for this fact...
On that note, Ive found that it is indeed possible to kill a legendary glowing claw with a switchblade,
And powerarmor, its Just A Very Very Very Bad Idea, as the raider who stole my armor found out...

Raiders are dumb anyway. I found a pretty funny comic that manages to poke fun at this fat while remaining pretty accurate : http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Fa.....3d0_607421.jpg
Orcus used to consider them a nice source of proteins, but he eventually gave up after eating a few of them and spending the next hours tripping balls; morons are always high on chems, which certainly explains a few things.
About the mod, I didn't know it existed; I'm a huge New Vegas fan but I only play on PS3 because I can't afford a decent gaming computer. And for the Fallout 4 deathclaws, I think they are not as tanky because Bethesda wanted to make them move in a more fluid, dynamic fashion : instead of charging you and shrugging off your bullets, they put much more effort into dodging your shots and trying to flank you.
I have yet to complete OWB but I'm sure it will be entertaining; I love the Think Tank's wacky, mad scientist behaviour. If I ever make them appear in Orcus' stories, I think they will too have deathclaw bodies.
Why ? BECAUSE SCIENCE !!!

Thanks a lot dude, it's always good to know people like what I do
I'll draw again as soon as possible; I accidentally broke my left hand three weeks ago (I am left-handed) and had to get a cast for it. Finally took it off this morning but I'll still need a few days before I can hold a pen properly again.

Thanks ! The knuckle of my middle finger seems to have dropped a few milimeters down, I think the metacarp bone healed at a slight angle... The doc says it's a common sequela with that kind of fracture. It's not too noticeable unless I close my fist, though. And it shouldn't impact my hand's mobility so hopefully it won't be a problem when I start drawing again :)
Thanks for your kind words though. I had a few more artworks in mind involving this bad boy before the accident, I'll make sure to draw more of him when I can !
You a Fallout fan, BTW ?

Interestingly enough, the Enclave did create intelligent Deathclaws : you can meet them in Fallout 2 and do a couple quests for their alpha, Gruthar. His son Goris is even a recruitable companion !
They are not mutated humans however; their intellect was boosted thanks to the FEV.
