Corazon with a balloon again, versus a similar creature called Coral, that appears to recently have had a balloon. I have attemped more solid coloring than usual. This may prove useful in the future.

Thank you! I liked the look of the character for the previous commission and so I prepared an unusually high number of possible poses, and our Retl was nice enough to take more than one of them.
This is a different technique than I have used in the past, however! The one I think you refer to I have not been able to get to work for quite some time, since I used to do it with a mouse and it took a very long time. Trying it with a tablet leads to things like http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19562728/ that, which is not what I would like it to be. My decreasing patience for outlines is also a factor.

Interesting. Being a former draftsman, I find outlines essential to my drawing style, but I believe I understand what you are referring to. I'm not certain if you're familiar with the art of Harvey Kurtzman or Bill Elder who did all those marvelous cartoons for Mad Magazine and Playboy in the 1950s through to the late 1980s, but both had a unique "Borderless" style of cartooning I desire to imitate, but I feel I still need a bit more training in another media outside of pens, ink, and gauche watercolors or Acrylics. It might be that these techniques could be applied through the Electronic art media though, as evident from those images seen in popular video games. I believe I'll look into this further.
My fondness for filling a scene with nonsense (not so evident in this gallery) is heavily inspired by Mad Magazine artists, though I only saw Will Elder artwork sporadically through reprints. Jack Davis, who stayed with MAD for longer, I knew well and particularly liked the visual style of (especially the distinctive long, narrow feet), even if he was less big on background silliness. Theoretically there is still time for me to meet him but in the event I did, I don't know what I would do with that.
Which is beside the point! I believe it was common to use gouache for magazine art, colored or not, back in the 1960s, but maybe it became too time consuming through the years as subscription numbers dwindled and, presumably, pay rates decreased. Meanwhile use of photography became more common so that sort of illustration was less in demand. I presume.
I can get a certain distance in with plain grey or black lines, but at some point I can no longer process new information in my own pictures without adding color. That of course makes it difficult to offer the usual "commission tiers" so common on this website.
It has also created trouble for http://bimshwel.com/ope/opeindex.html my own comic strip since for a time I tried very hard to maintain consistent outlines, even as it held up production time by ever growing amounts as I tried to draw more complex things that I was not prepared to do that way. I envy people who are good with black and white and ink! But I will never be one.
I can draw with pixels, however little practical use that skill has for me, but the 3d stuff yet confounds and disinterests me.
