Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I got a phone call from my mum at 9:30, telling me dad was already at the work site. I was a bit annoyed he didn't wake me up, so I quickly brushed my teeth (and stole a few Reese's chocolate eggs from the basket) and went to the houseboat home. That not-eating turned out to be a bad decision since the tasks of the day, which were relatively easy by comparison, were made almost impossible due to:
a) Lack of food
b) up last night dranking
c) mild soreness from the day before
d) Seriously lack of food holy shit
Even picking up garbage stripped from the houseboat home, bending down and lifting small segments of 2x4, caused immense discomfort, dizziness, and fatigue. It was like my body was screaming at me the entire time, jamming on the self-preservation brakes that've been hones by millions of years of evolution, and making it so working was difficult. However I wanted to get as much done as possible, since looming clouds threatened rain.
Finally around 1:30 mum called and told us Easter Dinner was ready. It felt good to finally get some food in my stomach, and I swear I ate like twice as much as I usually do. We rested for about 30 minutes and returned to the work site; this time mum accompanying us. She was suffering from a fever, so the only thing she needed to do was help me keep a wheelbarrow stable as I poured concrete into it.
The clouds grew more and more ominous with each accomplished task...Two of the footer holes expanded and filled (without a level, mind you!), the walls of one of the long sides stripped of all plywood and most of the rotten 2x4s replaced...
...Eventually the rain threatened with a few small drops, then it grew steadier into a faint drizzle, but when the thunder and lightning started we knew it was time to leave. Luckily we had already gathered our supplies in a small area to leave in a hurry. We returned home, I got a shower, and damn, it felt sooooooooooo good to just lay down and relax.
