I got inspired after reading
Booyakasha011 reply to
Drayk journal at http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/.....8/#cid:4995730 . Booyakasha011 wondered "why can't someone just make a banner of a dragon or something else, just lying on some grass real peaceful like". This idea popped in my head of using one of my old drawings and make a banner out of it. The chances of it ever being used is less than nil of course. But it was fun to make anyway.
BTW, GIMP's text tool leaves a lot to be desired. I had to do some twisted work-a-rounds to get the text even halfway decent. Not exactly work friendly, but it got the job done.

Thanks. I'm happy with it overall. I'm so tempted to copy-n-paste it over the current banner on my homepage just for kicks. Probably gets deleted even though it a faux screenshot and there is even a category for that. I wonder if it enough a a derivative work to fly under the radar.
I can tell you the pr0ns get just about all the attention. But I still thing the timing makes an impact too. I notice a lot of my work that I post during the weekends gets more views than the weekdays stuff in general. This works out for me since I do most of my arts (if you can call it that) during the weekends anyway. I used to wait for that time to post things but nowadays, I just throw it out whenever I get done with it (mostly late a night).
I also used to pose questions to prod for replies but I kinda got away from that as I didn't noticed any difference doing that. I guess it is the luck of the draw.
As for this submission, I think this is the biggest response I got in weeks if not months. It seems I did something right. what it is I have no clue.

Hehe, glad you like. I noticed after posting it that I ended up using the same color combination for the text without realizing it. I started off with light blue but changed it to yellow to make it read better. Then the 3D filter has a red texture as default. Funny how things work out like that.
Yeah, GIMP interface can be weird at times. But I still like it over Photo Shop. I hate PS GUI. It drives me nuts. The best GUI I find is Paint Shop Pro 9. To me it is the most logical. Too bad it is getting ruined.
I'm getting more and more used to GIMP. The logic of it can be a bit twisted. But I think I found a good (though runabout) way of fancying up the text. If I need something better, I probably grab a dedicated text making program and copy-n-paste the results into GIMP.
