Why the ravens might you ask?
Two reasons. One, depictions of ravens in several cultures, including Germanic and Irish Celtic, have included associations with warfare. Two, one of the terms used to describe a group of ravens is an "unkindness", which can double as a suitable euphemism for what war does to those who get involved in it.
