It probably shouldn't surprise anyone that Viridian City is home to one of the largest music festivals/competitions in the nation, especially when the grand prize is getting a professional recording gig with a major label. And since the event often takes place at the same time as the local battle leagues' shows, even those bands who don't win could still get plenty of attention and publicity, which leads to an easier time getting booked to play elsewhere.

It also shouldn't surprise anyone that among the contestants that enter each year are several bands made up of students from the PCA and other schools in the region. Last year a band from the Pewter City Combat Academy won and are currently on their second tour of Sinnoh. A PCA band has yet to make it all the way to the top... maybe this year will be different?


(I spent more time thinking up the band names than I did on anything else with this. The lengths I go through just to use up a few in-jokes, I swear...)
