Just a series of portrait sketches I've been doing when I have a spare moment or two after doing the character listing project I mentioned in one of my journals. I used to do pages like these all of the time for all of my characters but stopped doing it and most of the older pages seem to have vanished.

Living in the desert of the southwestern US has exposed me, sometimes very closely, to animals I wouldn't have otherwise known about and many other people might not think live here. I love drawing inspiration for characters from real animals and after drawing a tarantula gal that eventually became Marisa, I decided to draw a whole series of characters based on animals of the Sonoran Desert, hence the title Sonoran Vistas. This is the Thompson family and Tyler's girlfriend Marisa. Marisa and Tyler's friends will hopefully follow shortly.
