Yes, the mysterious artist for the Further Confusion 2009 T-shirt is... me!

The piece started life as an otter on a surfboard, riding a huge wave. But the otter idea was deemed too obvious, and I agreed, so I decided to do something a little different... a SHARK on a surfboard! This idea went a little farther, almost to finished form, but the image nagged at me.. I didn't really like it very much.

And so it was suggested that I look at the African wild dog being used for much of FC's promotional material, and so it was decided that I make the surfing character the same one. The huge wave was reduced in size so as not to overwhelm the composition, and the result is as you see here, and on FC 2009's t-shirt. It's an image I'm pretty proud of, and was happy to produce to the convention!
