Hey times were different back then... an yet pretty much similar... Ya forget what a struggle it used ta be ta even find places that'd cater ta hostin' furry gatherin's back then... shoot even these days with most'a the bad conotations that're associated with 'those furry freaks' mostly behind us, bookin' places is still a big headache most critters won't even try ta undertake.
heh yeah 'those damn elevators' were perhapsone of it's most memorable moments... an even inspired lotsa art afterwards... as well (unfortunately) as the grounds fer some furres even ta this day tryin' ta break'em in hotels... a fact of which is usually also on the minds of hotel staff an which is why AC makes sure ta moderate elevator usage :P
Ya.. those were the days. Flying from coast to coast to stay at a friend's in Boston. Driving down in his Miata, packed with a couple of bags and his suit. The experience, good or bad of spending the weekend at the fur con. Then hearing they were taking the hotel down that last year there. There was a picture floating around, of Rouge trying to help people get back to their rooms by flinging them into the little windows on the side of the tower. :P
I remember I think it was anthrocon 2002 or so.. when I came out there and was tired and sitting with other people in the lobby. It was me and Rory and like six other furs and this idiot with a camera started asking us questions about our "fursonas" and all that. I excused myself and did what I needed to.. I went and got kage. That problem resolved itself as i have NO idea what happened next. But later on I am approached by Cobalt and.. I think it was Torcafled about a media van unloading behind the hotel and I was fucking pissed. This was my vacation and it was being ruined by these media types! So I remember storming out, fist balled as I was ready to fight someone and I turn around the corner and see people unloading a big old media van...
... and then I see Cheetah and start laughing my ass off. Cheetah looks at me and goes "What's so funny?" and I told him the story and HE starts laughing.
Ahhhh... good times.

I vividly remember the Adam's Mark, I remember the elevators that terrified me because they kept breaking down, and ones that stopped at EVERY SINGLE FLOOR on the way down. It was... pretty shit.
I however, go back further than that, back in 2000, when AnthroCon was held in Valley Forge, PA. I remember THAT hotel very well.

YEP! I did research and it seems that it was the Valley Forge Hilton and it is now the doubletree hilton. God.. there was a mall or someplace close to that place as well as an Acme market across the street. I remember the fricking Tora costume that Loopy made.. anyone remember that? :)
The adams mark hold the record for both the worst and best elevators. Worst was the first year AC was there. Kage has a story hour on that. The best year was the one year where the owner got stuck in the elevators for an hour and desided to do something about it. So that year the elevators was being upgraded at the same time AC was there. There was only three of the four running as the forth one was upgraded, but was not certified yet. HOWEVER, the other elevators was "tweeked" by the folks there to run really short cycles. That one year, there was no long line at the elevators at all during the convention.
I couldn't have cared either way, it was crappy fast food trying to be a diner. I just remember all the fuss and the I'm going to go in my ears and tail and demand service butt hurt. *shrugs* We always packed a trunk or bag of just food in case our money got stolen.. *cough's and hides the dealers den reciepts*
