I will toss up more views of the flutes I make here, but most all my "art" is on http://willowfox.furtopia.org/ it's all old though, I am currently making ouijiaboards out of slate and written in theban, all hand carved, it's a fun pass time ^o^
I can put anything on the flutes at all, and if I want to get really silly,, I can carbon anyones character onto them too.
The flutes are made from bamboo, coated in wax (this one was coated in scented wax, and oiled with teatree oils) has lambskin leather dampers so the vibration stays where it should and the flute sounds warm and whole, not like the cheap wooden flute it is ^.^
The inside is also wax sealed, the flute is heated over a burner and the inside is coated in wax to seal it well, the holes are drilled and burned in, the finger holes are pretty much form fitted for the fingertips by toasting the outter shell untill the holes are concaved, the mouth hole is cut and lightly burned but not rounded off so the air can be scooped easily. they are wrapped with senu and tightened by heating over a flame, and the leather is also tighened and rounded off on the edges by flame.
