EDIT March 25, 2016 : Updated the lighting. Looks so much closer to what I had in my head X3

Been wanting to draw these guys for a while, but after my Folklore class talked about the significance of the number 3 in the American culture, I felt this would be the perfect time X3

Meet Alastor (the racoon), Lilly (the fox), and Ruby (the skunk), a trio of Shinigami. In this story's context, Shinigami work in groups of three and oversee the three realms outside of the World of the Living: Paradiso, Purgatorio, and Inferno. Their job is to guide souls of the deceased to their respective realms, as well as serve as mediating agents between angels and demons, to ensure that their ongoing feuds do not bleed into the World of the Living.

I am pretty proud of this. While the over-saturated haze effect didn't really work as well as I wanted, Purgatorio's sky looks spot on. Think the Twilight Realm from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to see what I was trying to go with
