Microchips and Poke ballsExhausted from escaping trainer upon trainer in their persistent attempts to catch her, Suicune laid down next to a lake. She was about to take a much deserved drink from the lake when she noticed something moving under the water, heading straight for her. Judging by its small shape and size the legendary canine could not fathom who or what it was.
The mysterious shape suddenly emerged from the lake, revealing itself to be a metallic Poke ball with two different shades of grey instead of its usual colouring of red and blue. It hovered in the air right in front of Suicune’s face. Before Suicune could react any further the centre of the levitating ball opened up, shooting out a small microchip-like item. It attached to the Pokemon’s forehead, sticking to it like glue.
As soon as the microchip made contact with Suicune’s head, a tiny green light on it started to blink continuously. Suicune was about to remove the bothersome device when her brain received a huge zap, putting her in a deep trance-like state. Her eyes became all green with binary coding running across in the foreground.
Elsewhere in the skies above Latias was whizzing through the air, cutting up clouds as she flew back and fore in diagonal formation. She was having the time of her life; especially after leaving her temperamental brother, Latios, behind to meditate in peace back in the mystic forest. It felt so stress free to soar solely without an older brother breathing down her neck to snap at her whenever she decided to have some fun.
She performed an array of somersaults and rotated her body 180 degrees as she flew over a forest, a huge grin stretched across her face. The carefree Eon had no idea she was being followed by a small metal-themed Poke ‘ball, though its speed paled in comparison to hers. After awhile it stopped in its tracks and began to emit a loud beeping sound.
“Huh?” Latias wondered, ceasing her aerial acrobatics once she heard the high-pitched beeps. “What is that annoying sound?”
Now that the sprightly Pokemon had stopped to give in to her curiosity, the Poke ‘ball flew towards her and stopped inches away from her face. Latias was bewildered at the sight of the object, going as far as lightly poking it. The button in the centre of the metallic sphere opened up to shoot a microchip at Latias’s forehead.
The shocked Latias attempted to take off the microchip off her head but a swift zap put an end to that. Almost instantly she dropped into a heavy trance. Her eyes turned into binary coding as her stunned expression turned vacant.
Meanwhile at the very top of the famed Dragonspiral Tower, the legendary white dragon, Reshiram, was waiting patiently for a worthy trainer to come and claim her as their own. None had been successful and overtime the number of trainers had fallen significantly. She was sitting up against a pillar, occasionally eyeing a pile of a diverse collection of poke puffs in arms lengths away from her. The humans living in the town at the base of the tower had given them to her as tribute even though she despised the flavour of man-made food.
“Is this truly my destiny?” she sighed to herself, looking away from the failed offering. “These humans are getting more and more unworthy of me for every day that passes. Sometimes I wonder if I was better sealed up in the Light Stone.”
While she was distracted by her trail of thoughts, a silver-coloured poke ball dropped from above, landing on top of the poke puffs, knocking one of them rolling off. The runaway sweet rolled over to Reshiram, stopping next to her white soles. This caught her attention and she glanced at it before looking over at the pile again, effortlessly spotting the odd one out.
“That one wasn’t there last time,” she pointed out, eyeing it with a suspicious glare. She lowered her head closer to it. “It is a different colour but it looks very much like the capturing device humans use.”
A microchip flew out of a tiny hole in the middle of the metal poke ‘ball, finding a spot on Reshiram’s forehead. The white dragon did not have much time to respond before her eyes transformed into slow flowing binary coding.
Miles away in the region of Kalos the mythical stag-like Pokemon Xerneas was travelling through a forest. She had gone into hiding ever since the Team Flare business had brought her existence and her previous whereabouts into common knowledge. Xerneas had no intention of being part of some high-and-mighty trainer who would treat her like a battle drone and a tool to their fame. The deeper into the forest she trekked fewer and fewer Pokemon were around. She preferred to be alone, not even enjoying the company of her fellow Pokemon.
Unbeknownst to her she was being closely tracked by a levitating silver poke ball. The conspicuous gadget got closer to the unsuspecting Xerneas, catching up to her as she slowed down to look at trees to try and find any low-bearing fruit. Out of the blue it gained a boost of speed, swooping under Xerneas’s legs and up into her point of view, surprising her.
Angered at being surprised by the mechanic stalker Xerneas attempted to stab it with a Megahorn. The Poke ‘ball did not move, taking the attack head-on while shooting out a microchip. The chip came in contact with the legendary’s forehead, sticking to it. Xerneas remained in the attacking position, her eyes full of green binary coding and her irate expression wiped clean to be replaced with no emotion at all.
In the region of Johto the silver-winged wonder, Lugia, was flying back to his home at the Whirl Islands. The weather was throwing heavy rain and strong winds his way, but he efficiently battled against the forces of nature. It was the only time he could leave the sanctity of his cave abode without being spotted by any humans.
Lugia flew down when his island came into view. His vision was slightly impaired by the harsh weather but he knew the layout of the islands like the back of his wing. There was one thing that stood out of place, however, a petit, barely noticeable circular object hovering in the air in front of him. Like Lugia the Poke ball seemed unaffected by the gale and continuous downpour.
“What is that?” Lugia wondered to himself, hastily approaching the humming ball.
The ball tilted upwards slightly and fired out a microchip. The velocity was potent enough to cut through the wind and hit Lugia in his forehead. Lugia stopped frozen in mid air, his entire body paralyzed by the mind numbing zap to his brain. He had a few seconds to gasp in shock before his mind fell victim to the microchip and his eyes became binary code.
“RE-PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN COMPLETED. BIO-BOT LUGIA IS ONLINE.”
A short and possible one-shot story I felt like writing. I gendered the legendary Pokemon because I can. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I loved writing it. You can't go wrong with mind control I always say.
