I have a special relationship with my microKorg. <3 I've owned him for a few years now and can safely say that he is without a doubt my favorite inanimate electronic device to which I have assigned a personality and name. :U

My friend
vulpeschild has a Korg MS-2000. Got it on sale as the floor model. Damn that thing was fun. Especially since we tried to replicate song elements back when Frequency came out.

We must have great relationships with our keyboards. Although mine's a Yamaha, I come home from college and play it at least twice every evening. I've been ticklin' ivories since I was 6, and taught myself all the essential chords, octaves and all. The only problem is that I cannot read a song sheet.
Also, built-in headphones. All you need is an audio cable and ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO.
A'ight, Techno. This is how we' gonna do it.
We're gonna get an industrial power drill, an audio jack, some small 20-gauge wiring, and a neuro-surgical professor guy.

I like the style here, but it is very different from the usual look of your digital stuff.. almost reminiscent of Kaku's style (not that that's a bad thing, of course; the two of you are probably my favorite toony artists there are, and I suspect you share a lot of early influences). I like the cel shading here especially, though I'm.. not sure why xD it just looks very tasty :>
Well, it's a lot more rounded for one - disregarding Techno's nose, because I know you've been aiming to get that a bit bigger - much less angular and larger, more circular shapes overall. The cel shading makes more 'lighting sense' than your normal cel shading does (typically it's rather difficult to discern a lighting direction or placement, which I consider to be more a part of your style than an unintentional mistake) and it's a little more vibrant than usual, especially with the multiple colors in the ears. Techno is fluffier than ey normally is (you typically draw the same 'amount' of fluff, which is to say you draw it in the same places on eir body, but the rounded edges and arrangement of said fluff in this picture creates a softer look overall) and the background is more simplistic than what you'd usually turn out for personal pieces, in my experience.
I suspect a great deal of this is simply because you're using Sai instead of MSPaint, though there is still a bit of style difference between this and the commission you posted just before it.

I know the feeling, i have an almost symbiotic relationship with a now prehistoric Mp3 player (Creative Jukebox). Damn thing will turn itself on just for attention.
I've been meaning t ask. I'm new to your work 'n i'm still lookin' around, but what's with the Doc Ock style arms your lil critter keeps sprouting?

Techno is an android that was built to pilot a time machine which needed a lot of constant maintenance and control-tweaking--more than two hands can handle. There's a set of 16 tentacles that run down the spine (8 on either side). At one point they were fully retractable, but these days I decided that at very least the ends of the first few have to be showing all the time, because there just plain isn't enough room in the body cavity to store them all at once (and because I like how they look). Oh, and they have modular ends, which can be claspers, pinchers, probes, flashlights, disco balls...
