"Did you hear that?"
Ferrer twitched a rounded ear, a telltale sign of his werebear otherform. He looked at Brahma, the lantern's light showing him to look more frightened than usual. Flared nostrils, the exposed whites of his eyes, sculpted muscled tense and bulging as they--
He cast away such lecherous thoughts. Best to save them for the bedroom, after they get out of the First Library. Why did it have to be so dark and vast? And where were all of these legendary books? All Ferrer could see were latticed stonework, crumbling under the touch, and enough bat shit to last him a lifetime. "I don't hear anythin', lad."
"There!" Brahma pointed towards a row of columns high above.
"There what?" Ferrer squinted to try and make out whatever it was the minotaur was spooked over, seeing only darkness.
"I saw red eyes looking at us!" Brahma shuddered, his muscles rippling in the way only a minotaur could. It was a bit disturbing to see them move that way, as a human could never mimic it.
"Calm down, lad. Yeh most likely just saw an afterimage of the light from my lantern."
"No, Ferrer, I saw something!"
"Then we'd best be on our guard." Ferrer took his hammer, trusting in the bull's vision, but hoped Brahma was merely seeing things that weren't there. That hope was lost once his ears picked up on the sounds of skittering feet. He raised his weapon hand, but Brahma had already stopped.
"You heard it too," Brahma whispered.
Ferrer nodded, his lips pressed into a grimace. "And whatever it is, it's tryin' t'be quiet. On my count of three, you go to your right, and I'll go to my left. It'll confuse it." Or at least he hoped it would. "One...two...three!"
They both moved to their respective sides, and Ferrer swung the lantern around. What he saw was larger than even his bearform, red eyes gleaming in the light. Most disturbing was the fact it seemed to be made of shadow, it's form featureless save for it's unmistakable claws.
"What is it?" Brahma said, voice cracking in fear.
"Whatever it is, it's going t'regret stalkin' us."

A very exciting scene, but of all things, I'm taking issue with one word: huger. I've always been taught the comparative term was "more huge" rather than "huger." I seem to remember a few other words like that as well, but this was grammar school in the 70s, so things may have changed.
