ACEO - Briareos Hecatonchires
Little fanart for myself. :3
I always loved "Appleseed". Guess I belong to the older generation of Anime fans. *g* Anyhow... the 2004 version inspired my enthusiasm for the mangas and so forth again and I enjoyed "Ex Machina" tremendously! I love the less bulky design of Bri. *giggles*
So yeah... the card might not look like it, but it actually took me quite some time to finish it.
Included the arms in the card, because I really wanted to relate to the Hecatonchires mythology. And yes, I know... it's only 5 arms here and not 100. ;p But after all it's just an ACEO. *snickers*
Enjoy. ^__^

The two new movies seem to combine celshading and rendering. I confess I had to get used to it to like it. The version of 2007 looks... somehow smoother, less awkward than its predecessor of 2004. This applies to the design, the shading as well as the movement of the characters.
Yeah, I remember this movie, Today I conserved, is a good movie with interesting characters and nice designs (speciality the mech, looks very nice and me likes the concept of half machine and half human)
Congradulations for this work, all we remember Appleseed, the story of a girl in a utopic story and the battles in Utopic city... and maybe an utopic future... well, maybe we will finish like this.

Very nice, a hundred arms would also be difficult to draw in any case.
The four graphic novels were great, I hope Masamune Shirow continues them someday, part of the story was hinted in the Appleseed Databook, but then he got hooked on Ghost in the Shell, which is also very good.
The original was good, but I didn't like the end and it's implications.
I think the 2004 version could have been beter, if it was a little longer for character backgrounds. Otherwhise very nive.
Need to get my paws on the 2007 one though.

Oooh dude, you have to watch the original Appleseed dubbed. It has some terrific one-liners, added to make the anime more 'adult', because that was a selling point back when anime first became more noticed in the West.
Deunan: "It really gets on my tits that she wouldn't see us!"
Classic stuff XD

Great rendition of Bri! I'm a HUGE Appleseed fan. I especially love the mangas because they're so intricate and really convey a world with a mix of cultures. I wish he hadn't given up on book 5 :<
Although the new CGI movies are cool, they're a bit too serious at times and lack the warm camaraderie between Deunan and Bri (which I felt the original 80s OVA captured pretty well). Here's hoping the TV series will be great!
