One thing I never got about the cartoon was the addition of his kid, I may have forgotten but was it ever mentioned where he was before he popped out of the blue? Eh it;s a cartoon and over thinking it...but I always liked him better solo.
Really awesome work though, Tim carrey always voiced the best cartoon characters, usually one shot characters but they were always the most memorable and awesome. Thing he did a few reoccurring ones, know he did 'lord Dragonus' forever. You captured Manta so well I can pretty much hear him!

I know that Evil Manta was introduced in the 9th episode of the 1st season of TLM series, and returned with his son Little Evil in the 8th episode of the 3rd season -- which was also the very last episode made for the series. I guess even though we never knew of a mate, it is possible to say that Manta has had one some time during to the time span of the 1st and 3rd season OR before the first season in which we learn that he was sealed away in dormant volcano.
And this is true about Tim Curry. He's best known for his roles as many villains that include not only Evil Manta from TLK series and Lord Dragonus in the Mighty Ducks series, but also MAL from Captain Planet, Dr. Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Plaza Hotel concierge in Home Alone 2 : Lost in New York, and Forte the Evil Pipe Organ in Beauty and the Beast : The Enchanted Christmas.

God I loved that sequel to B&B, he was such an awesome villain in that, and the animation was really astounding quality for a direct to video movie.
I could've sworn manta was in a second episode by himself though, can't remember what he was doing...was he in that one where they found that shoe that everyone was mistaking for a weapon? I picture him holding that stupid thing...ugh, such a ludicrous concept that was but it worked somehow.
Oh and Curry also did a voice of a bull on Wild west cow boys of moo mesa, and I could've sworn he was in mighty max at some point too...I'll have to look it up sometime to refresh my memory.
