Here's another PWYW sketch that I've inked and coloured. The subject this time is Mike Tamaana, who is an osprey gryphon incubus, and student at Illiath's school for incubi and succubi.
Mike is seen here having fun, possibly on the fields outside the school. Looks like he's going to owe Illiath a new ball, though. Osprey talons are sharp.
Gryphons in the DMFA/Project Future universe are fully sentient, though not necessarily as bright as a normal Being. They have a tendency to act like teenagers for their whole lives, which in the case of Mike is likely to be a long, long time.
As a rule he's easy to get on with and his best friend at the academy is Daniel Kamei'Sin. In Epsilon they tend to appear together.
This piece is a collab with
Ahro who did the original pencils as a PWYW sketch. The original is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19235022/
The grass was borrowed from the previous picture which in turn borrowed it from some Project Epsilon artwork by
merlin-the-bruce
The beach ball was traced from some random beach ball off the 'net.
I'm still not completely happy with the wings, I think I need to adjust my highlighting technique to better match Ahro's wing design. Still, I think it came out quite well regardless.

Dang that pose is rad. He looks great!
Incidentally, how many toes is Mike meant to have on his front hands? I've been drawing his front legs with three, two front fingery ones and a back thumby one, and back legs with four, three fingers and a thumb (to match the pic on Amber's Gryphon (B) page). Should he get two thumbs up front to make it four and four?
Gunther has two thumbs. Birds with extra toes are pretty great.

I'm not honestly sure. Generally I'd recommend follwing what Mab does, but I do know that ospreys have an opposable digit that can switch around. When they're perching they have three toes front and one back, and when they're fishing they have two toes front and two at the back - which is what Ahro has drawn here (or at least how I've interpreted the pencils).
