A family of giraffes, done for a friend and as a commission!

I have a terrible feeling that they are not pleased with it. But I like it, damnit!

Okay Mr. Bear, I'll throw in my two cents. First thing I notice when I see this is the eyes. They are crisp and quite beautiful. The mother is a very pretty animal, I would say she's my favorite however it's the variation in the three giraffes which makes this a cool picture. The giraffes being different colors give them different personalities, and with the dad you can tell he is older and "rougher" than the sleek looking mom. I think you made a good choice to not use ink outlines for the background, it pushes the animals forward and makes the whole image a little softer which works for the family image you have going on. You mentioned not liking the pencil lines as you were working on this and I see that the shadows you added masked them so they are hidden quite a bit.
I enjoyed seeing your progress on this, it makes me appreciate the final piece that much more. Oh!!! I just noticed the shading on the daddy giraffe's neck and it's ace! Be prepared to see your art reach new heights Jess!
Also I hope you don't mind me critiquing your work, I can get overly enthusiastic when it comes to art. Draw more!!!

No way! I love this! Thank you so much for your encouragement and support, AND you educated two cents. <3
That shading on the neck was pure accident. I put the color down, stopped, and was all "... oh gosh it looks like neck muscle! KEEPING."
I have been abusing that blender pen you gave me quite a bit, and it was used pretty heavily in this picture too! I am buying a dozen of em when I get the chance!
