Second book in the Fire Dog Trilogy.
Will thought he'd managed to root out the evil that had been spreading through V-Town. He was wrong, dead wrong. The corruption grows in the shadows, and deep underground where no one would ever dare look. Biding its time, growing stronger.
Thanks to RedDogDingo for his help with editing.
Please be aware that unlike many of my stories, this work contains adult scenes and situations. I will mark those chapters appropriately.

looks like Chief Hamish just got promotion..... I hope his dream of leading the V-town FD doesn't turn into a night mare..... Then again I think that regardless of the species that they appear to be, those other station chiefs are all part hyena at the moment.
Now I must say that the "voluntary" work gangs do have me worried.... But I'm curious why some of them seem to be so much more organized then others. What kind of critter could master the work gangs like that?
It also sounds like Chief Hamish needs to get a cot or have a Murphy bed installed in his office. Dr. Hamish's little silent exchange Davies have me worried about what those two could be planning. And speaking of "Dr. Hamish". What the heck is up with that... he hasn't even proposed yet, but she's already using his name.... in the words of a well know Admiral.... "It's a TRAP!".
Oh yes.... Bouncy tail wags.... I'm sooo happy to see that Zack is doing better, but it sucks that he's so scared up. I mean he was a nice handsome young stallion. Not to sound shallow, but this could really interfere with him finding just the right mare to spend his life with.

Well, a big step forward like that... I'm sure it'll come with a few snags. Things are never as smooth as one might like them to be. As for the other station chiefs... hyena would be putting it politely.
The workgroups are a scary idea... but V-town is in a very bad place. It would take one cold mind to come up and manage something like that...
Heheh. I think our good chief has quite a few 'things' in his office!
As for Zack, I think all folks are happy to have him back. And as for a mare, time will tell...
