:D I've had the WIP of this sitting unfinished for a damn long time... so last night I busted out my colored pencils and completed the background. ^u^ I much like how this turned out!
This is a 7x10 inch drawing, all colored pencils with a few ballpoint pen accents. I managed (somehow) to get a decent photo of this today even though it was overcast and rainy... and a bit of noise cleanup later, voila. Here ya go.
:D Thylacosmilus, though it may look like it is related to the saber-toothed cats, is actually a predatory marsupial. Convergent evolution, peeps. ^w^ It means two unrelated critters that have the same niche may end up with the same features and body shape and such. Wonderful concept, yeh?
And yay! This means more paleoart is done! ^w^ I've been wanting to be known for quirky and imaginative paleoart... I'll probably do some more dinosaurs and crocodilians, and maybe some prehistoric fish too. And pterosaurs! Not enough love for the pterosaurs! ^^
