So, not so great news but I went to clean Terry's arm today and it started bleeding badly, so I rushed him to the vet and they saw that the same thing that initially caused the problem with his muscle is happening again. Not sure if it's another muscle or just tissue this time, but we have all come to the conclusion that this is just going to happen over and over because his arm has shown no improvement swelling wise, and hardly healed from the surgery.
On top of this, the cultures came back and his arm is full of bacteria of all sorts. He's not responding at all to antibiotics (in fact things seem to be getting worse), so it is clear to us that his arm is just not going to heal. So, while we are still not entirely sure what's going on, it is just best that the arm goes and he's not in pain anymore or at risk of the infection spreading.
So yeah, been a crazy day with lots of tears because I know this is going to be risky and so hard on him, but it is for the best. He can't suffer anymore, he's been in so much pain and once everything heals he'll be much better. He'll be my little tripod bun, and I'm going to do everything to help him adjust and adapt, even if it means finding a person to make him a prosthetic arm.
All that being said I need ~$80 to put down for the surgery tomorrow, so I'm going to try to run a commission stream tonight where I work on each commission for a little while so that everyone can see some work done. Not sure what time I'm gunna do so, but keep an eye out if you're interested! Down payment taken care of, thank you all so much! ; A ;
tl;dr: Terry's arm has to be amputated tomorrow and I could use a little more money if anyone can spare it.
Also, probably sounding like a broken record right now, but thank you again to everyone who's helped out and sent positive words my way. I could not have gotten here without you all, and I would be much worse off mentally than I am without your help. Thank you all again so much, I love you guys ;;
Oh, and for anyone concerned: yes that is a cat in the background, she's very gentle and only ever smells him (he's like catnip to her). He's about the same size as her so she's really wary or him and keeps her distance c: Also, his pupil is huge because he got some pain meds at the vet today after the whole bleeding thing, so he's okay just a little loopy XD

I would help pay, but Im afraid I cant pay. Sorry...
I would like to point out that your bunny not responding properly to antibiotics is a very specific ONE genome in his body which shows a tolerance to the specific drugs. I have recently been studying enzymic re-insertion, which is where we take a specific SNP (DNA strand), and mass produce it within an enzyme. The strand would be a non-defected, or brand new strand which would not have the tolerance to the antibiotics, therefore allowing them to work. I am creating new ways of healing, and hope to help everything soon.

Thank you for the gesture though, please don't feel guilty! c:
-genetics major jumps up and down excitedly- That's so awesome, I hope your research goes well because that would help save so many lives and be an incredible discovery for you! Research like what you're talking about is what I want to do with my major, so hearing that someone is doing this for animals makes me really happy. Thank you so much for sharing this! ; U ;
