You only need a couple seeds to start, you get a lot of extra seeds out of them so they're really easy to spread around.
Once the flower has bloomed and starts to dry out just snip it off the plant and you can open it up for seeds or save it for after winter.
They make nice gifts too if you have too many to know what to do with.
