What bird is this?

I got this picture today while I was on a walk. I saw this large bird gliding overhead and took a picture of it. I thought it was too big to be a crow or a hawk, but since I didn't have the time to zoom in and get better detail, I couldn't really tell for sure what it was. Anybody know what it is?

That's okay.
Yeah, it looked pretty big, alright. I could only get two pictures of it, though. It was moving right along, toward the sun.

I wondered if it was, too. But, then I wondered what one was doing way out here. They don't typically hang around residential areas.

Looks like a bald eagle to me. The head looks to be a whitish hue while the rest looks brown.

You're the second one to figure as much. But, don't Bald Eagles have white tail feathers, too?

Definitely a bald eagle, even the wings look right. They're a good-sized bird but you must also have a good camera to get a shot like that.

So, for sure it was a Bald Eagle? Most unexpected for a bird of prey such as that to be way out in a residential area. This has got to be a first for me. I normally see crows and hawks around here. Oh, and a pesky little humming bird that likes to tease me, it seems.

Bald Eagles can hang around urban areas if there's proper perching and hunting nearby. They like tall trees and open fields or rivers/lakes for hunting. As for the coloring, it could be a juvenile still. They're usually brown in their adolescent year. I think the head changes color first.
