Dark Tides is of the time of the Clan, under the presumption, that even when Ecco returned the globes in Defender of the future, nothing changed, as the Foe has still truly interfered. And so, when the Future Singers of the alternate time demension created a rift, and merged three worlds as one, the Clan, their own, and the original time of dolphins, Man still became extinct, for the Clan were ruthless, and turned even their own kind against each other. Try as they might, the other dolphins could not save mankind, and it seemed the ocean would also be under rule of the Clan. Until the arrival of the Crimson Star...
