100% old clock and watch parts, the backs are watch innards too :)
I've been collecting the bits - you can get really old watches from antique/retro shops and take them apart, but you can also just buy lots of parts off ebay. Ebay prices for the stuff are pretty high though usually, though you can snag the odd lot.
