Meh, honestly you should just turn her over and get on with your lives. She broke a big taboo, more than likely law, and you can't just give her special treatment cause she's your daughter/princess.

I do agree about the issue of some laws applying to others more firmly then others in terms of consequence, but when laws are made by thinking, breathing beings that have some measure of power and can be swayed by emotional attachment or emotion in general it will definitely be skewed as much as possible without creating a immediate uproar that cannot be handled.
