true :) it took me roughly an hour to fondle the setting to get it to this and played around with the scruffing option to aswell at painting bald spots where his eyes go so that the fur doesnt show up through his eye balls lol there are some great fur tutorials on the net too. but yeh next semister at uni we're making a vodeo called 'when mechs attack' look it up on the tube ;) its kinda neat. byut after that im looking at getting into more organit characters over mecha.
Maya's process:
1)Start up
2)Crash
3)Second attempt to start up
4)Draw a box
4a)well, most of a box, then it crashed
5)Sneeze
6)Maya chooses to crash...again (while altering the keyboard map for the fun of it)
7)3d modellers now have the highest intoxication rate in the field
(ok, it is not that bad, but you get the idea..)
Oh, and quite a cute fuzzy ball! Never tried fur rendering here yet, but might give it a go one day.

Hehe, I had to suffer with an ATI card for like a year before I saved up for a nVidia. Still running on the ATI card? Overall the graphics card doesn't have much influence, if any, over rendering. So if you stick to rendering from the command line, your batch renders should be fine :3
Really nice fur render!
