It's wrong as Ivan wants to chose for Isaac whereas when you want to make a solid relationship, you have to accept doing sacrifices for your partner... and of course accept the sacrifices your partner did for you.

I can understand Ivan choosing dreams and career over love, but also I think that is really harsh for him to call their relationship a mistake.
