We are still unsure of the exact nature of this creature, but the entity known as Dragonhawk appears to see and communicate with an ethereal being from the Shift called 'Aoi'. We do not know if he gave it this name or if the thing can even carry a conversation as any other being would. However, what we <i>have</i> learned is that it can impact reality around it and that it is somehow tethered to Dragonhawk.
Supposedly it is never too far from his side and has taken on a guardianship role, protecting the massive beast from events that are out of his control. For example, we obtained a report on how a trapper had successfully captured him and intended to sell his pelt. As the last of his species, it would have garnered him enough worth for several generations to live off of.
Not even a few hours after Dragonhawk had been caught, the trapper had been incapacitated and the energy cage successfully disabled. Why Dragonhawk had not done this himself we are still unsure of, but this report proves that Aoi can, indeed, effect everything around it.
With this information we are hoping to uncover a way to successfully capture any being from the Shift and prevent them from interfering--or harming--anyone that is among the living. This documentation has also provided us with prudent information when it comes to entities that have become a part of the Shift, but are still very much tethered to our world.
A gorgeous badge of Aoi from the amazing Summerie on FlightRising! I have always wanted to commission a badge of my 'kin and its companion, and I was rewarded with this gorgeous piece of work. She did two other variations, both of them line arts, but one with and one without the name on it, in the case the name or colors may be changed. Though I doubt they will, I love all of them!
