When we first spotted the creature, confusion was our initial response. Reluctance to capture a holo followed and shortly after, understanding. At first we had not known we had seen this entity before, travelling with a being called Dragonhawk who had become a part of the Shift. Back then it was a quadrupedal beast that could do little to change reality around it, let alone make any sort of impact. It was hardly even capable of making an actual appearance to those who were not Shifted, as it took great power and strength to pull off such a feat.

Now it would appear that this being is not only capable of changing its outward appearance, but that it has somehow broken the barrier between our reality and the Shift. While we have been studying the Shift extensively for the past few years, not once did we think that any being who had been born into that "reality" could actively become a part of ours.

In truth, it is a frightening prospect.

While this entity--Aoi, apparently its name had been overheard before--appears to have no inclination towards harming anyone, I cannot speak for any other beast that may live within the Shift. What we have seen of our own reality and the monsters that roam it, it is not too far of a stretch to believe that the ones residing within the Shift will be far worse than anything we have encountered previously. In fact, this spirit appears to be growing in strength and capability. What is to keep it from attacking us? From trying harming anyone who is unfortunate enough to cross its path?

I do not know. In my professional opinion, this being is harmless unless provoked and we have no need to worry over it. However, the rationale of one man will only convince so many people. It is our nature to believe something we do not understand will cause irreparable harm and should be eradicated immediately, so that our species and all other sapients may continue to thrive.

We must study this creature more extensively and garner a better understanding of it and the other inhabitants of the Shift. While this one outwardly appears peaceable, there is no telling what lurks in a realm that consists of neither the living or dead.

This reference sheet of Aoi as an anthro was done by the brilliant  metalcoffecup! This form is favored over the quadrupedal one, but she will change if it is absolutely necessary or required. The wings displayed can also change size or be completely non-existent. While they are a good indicator of her abilities, she can indeed fly--though it is not due to these ethereal appendages. However, she does enjoy having them out during flight and forcing people to think they are the only reason she can travel in such a way.

Aoi is sexless and viewed as genderless by its peers; however, it prefers male pronouns. Whenever I write snippets about Aoi, however, I will write them with variations of 'it', 'they', and 'them', unless they are written directly by him.
