The Puma Class Fast Torpedo Boat is an unusual combat design from Starfleet, as it's primary hull is a modified large scale torpedo pod similar to that found on the Thunderchild Class Fast Cruiser. However, unlike the pods found on the Thunderchild, which have 8 torpedo tubes, the Puma only has 4, having two of the forward tubes replaced with deflector dishes and two aft tube replace with impulse engines. Being such a small design, there is no room for a shuttle bay and the crew, in the event of an emergency, must beam to a friendly ship or get to escape pods. Each Puma Class Torpedo Boat has a crew numbering from 20 to 30 individuals.
