He was born in 1926. By Normandy, he would have been 18. At that time, he volunteered to go as he was on his own.

Gotcha. I was researching Operation Overlord recently and decided to fit that into the timeline to get the Captain into some WWII action. : )

I've never been to France before, however I think it would be a really cool place to visit.

After retiring, he joined an experimental program in 1960. He was the only successful result of that program.
