I was thinking of the Beatles TV stage performance of Pyramus and Thisbe when I did this. The "man in the moon" was played by George Harrison, in it the "silent Beatle" was being heckled while saying his speech.
"This lantern doth the moon present! Look you, all I have to say is this lantern is the moon, you see. Got it? Fore I am the Man in the Moon! This branch here is my branch, this lamp is my lamp, and this doggy-woggy here is my dog, n' if you don't like it I'll give you a kick in the... the arse!"

So I went on a limb and decided to make my own version of "man in the moon" who is not a man but the illuminated spirit of a reindeer. Why not? If a Beatle can be one, why not a deer? :)
