~“I swore an oath to protect the lives of the innocent…if that means killing you then so be it” Dieze hissed through gritted teeth.
“You left me for dead, all of you, even the one I loved. You have no idea what that was like” Malivous replied in a cold tone recalling the events.
The Justicar leaped forward and extended her hand, a vibrant glow of energy swirled around her and within an instance a bolt of light flew towards the turian. Just as quickly he manifested his wings and struck one out to block the attack. Malivous gazed towards the ground and made a harsh groan sound as he knew there was no way he could get through to her. Dieze had changed, perhaps for the better or perhaps not, but the truth was too evident to ignore. They were too alike, both doing the same thing to protect the lives of innocents, but both saw one another different.
“It hurts me to do this Malivous, you know that! There was no way we could get to you under those boulders, we had no time. We all grieved… All of us.” Dieze said softly as tried her hardest to remain angry.
“Then why this then? Why do you attack and protect the guilty?” Malivous spat with a new sense of anger.
“If I let you pass…if I let you go any further, you will slaughter everyone, guilty and innocent. You have changed Malivous, and not for the better and now I’d be damned for even accept that thing named Orochigami into your life.” Dieze said and with that hurled another bolt of biotic shock waves.
Malivous didn’t even move an inch as he extended his other wing to block the next attack as he sighed and closed his eyes. Here on the Citadel, Malivous had one job, find the king pin and kill him, and sometimes death requires a sacrifice and a lot of the time the innocent where tied to the criminals. That was a fact Malivous had to face but he has come to accept it, his hands where stained in blood the day he was born so why should he stop now just because someone from the past thinks she can win?
With a deep breath Malivous looked the asari in the eyes, her markings had become more furious looking, she wore this sort of armour that looked ancient. She’d grown into a fine justicar in just a few short years of her life, perhaps the youngest. However Malivous did not have time to waste as his wings faded and the serpent coiled around his arm. Orochigami, the deity known as death eyed off their opponent recalling how she once looked. This was a tough choice as Malivous extended his arm out and the serpent took the form of the scythe.
“It’s a kill or be killed world Dieze. So what are you?” Malivous said with a far more stoic tone than ever before.
