Perhaps in an alternate story, Nala would adopt Vitani and Kovu into her family. With Kiara having been birthed not many weeks ago, and all three cubs being so young and around the same age, she would see fit to feed and raise them as her own.
So here she lounges, looking fondly upon the three young cubs, just begining to grow out of their spots, nursing them a few months or so after banishing Zira and her pride.

From what little I've seen of it, it doesn't look that bad. A lot better than most shows on and kinda comes off like Disney's attempt at something MLP-ish. And not just because of the cutie-mark like markings. My main two problems with the small bit I've seen are Kiara's bastardization of character(also why does she look less like Simba and more like Nala now halp) which is minor and kinda expected since she's no longer the focal point and, majorly Bunga. He alone can potentially turn me off from the series. xD But the songs I've heard are pretty good.

I've forgiving the oddity of Kiara atm, because the recent episode where she basically had to deal with being "ruler of the pridelands" for a day didn't quite seem to sit with her well, and she is watching her brother go do all these exciting things now as well. I suspect they want to show us how this happened, I just think they just too drastic with it to make it seem like ret-conning.
While the mlp thing is definitely there some, but, for the most part to me, it seems to work.
But Bunga...he needs to go, right now. He is terribly annoying and pointless. Meanwhile they had the coolest female hyena Jasiri in the first episode (after the double pilot) and where is she? She could replace him, and by the end of season 1 we should see Kiara being more defiant to her role, and I think all will be just fine.

Maybe Bunga could be eaten by a snake or something.....if there's one way to teach kids about the CIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRCLE OF LIIIIIIIIIIIIFFFFFE it's by having one of your main characters fall victim to it =D And yes! Her song with Kion is one of the ones I saw.
I give them plus points for that. we get an episode about a passed away elephant and a funeral (even if it was humorous), and a celebration that basically says "no, the lions are not eating the antelope today." And a female hyena easily beating up the males. They've kept on top of a lot, I guess were all just gonna be harder on them than with most shows because it's lion king basically lol.
I get that this is meant to be nice, but that is some dark stuff. They banish her, and take her children away from her? I mean, what is Zira thinking? Probably that they are collateral, if Zira ever tries to come back or does anything Simba & co. doesn't like, her babies will pay the price for her. And what would that do to the kids? Look at what happened to Theon, living in that situation.

That would certainly have been the more prudent thing to do.
