This wee little 1 1/2 inch townsend mole skull has been processed by me and is perfect in every way, right down to those amazing and unique teeth. The skull has been stained with black tea to achieve that 'fossil' color while leaving the teeth white.
Held in the jaws is a small chunk of rough cut amethyst. The gemstone is held in place by a touch of very strong clear epoxy.
The teeth have been glossed and the skull sealed in satin acrylic to protect and beautify. The pendant hangs on a 20 inch bronze chain with lobster clasp, making for a highly unique (but very fragile) jewelry piece that might appeal to those with equally unique tastes.
