This was by far the most difficult skeleton I have ever processed. Both incredibly fragile and complicated, it just about drove me nuts with all the detail work and fine tuning.

What you see here is a corn snake skeleton nestled in a glass vial. It has been curled around little dry-preserved sprigs of purple wildflowers and a single shard of quartz crystal. The skeleton rests on a bed of dried moss, and has been dried into the position seen with the flowers it its coils.

The naturally deceased snake was processed with utmost care by me; the plants were also collected and dried by me.

Pictures can be deceiving, though. Do you know one of the primary reasons this was such a tricky specimen to work with? The glass vial you are looking at is only a smidge over 3 inches tall if you include the cork - the hatchling corn snake skeleton itself is very, very small and absolutely beautiful in its fairy-like minuscule size.

The wee little skull is fully intact and undamaged.

I am currently finishing this vial up into a pendant with a handmade lavender rose accent to play off the dried flowers in the vial. :) This unique piece will be for sale in my Etsy shop within a few days so keep an eye peeled if it strikes your fancy. ( 8)~~~~<
